Unhappy Is it fair? (Disneyland Resort vs. WDW Resort)

Is it fair that Disneyworld has Country Bear Jamboree and Disneyland does not? Between Pooh and Country Bears, Country Bears would win anytime, anyplace. I saw the video of the original show and it made me realize how fortunate Disneyworld is.

You never saw the show? You're missing out. I agree that Pooh is totally worse than the CBJ (and by CBJ I really mean CBVH...I'm not that old)

Question CBJ in DCA

I wonder if TDA would avoid the song re-licensing fees if they reopened CBJ in DCA? It's still the same property right? It just the old Disneyland parking lot! It's not a really a new location. It would fit in with GRR and Brother Bear trail. That area's practically the old Bear Country now anyway...

...well, is it fair that we have Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and they have Pooh instead?

Is it fair? No. Is it their fault DL closed the Bears? No.

But I sure do miss them. I don't think Pooh is horrible. It's alright, but it's not even close to being as good as the Bears. It was certainly not a worthy replacement.

I would love to see the Bears return in DCA.

P.S. WDW closed their 20,000 Leagues ride and now they have a Pooh playground and are Subs are coming back. I bet they're jealous!

Is it also fair for Disneyland to have Haunted Mansion Holiday and not Walt Disney World? Both parks should have the overlay because the folks at Disney World are missing out big time.

I think the reason why WDW doesnt have the overlay is because it doesnt have nearly as many repeat/local visitors as Disneyland does.

I was never a big fan of the Bears, so I honestly really don't care that it's gone. *shrugs*

Never seen the Country Bears, but I would like to. Just to say that I've experienced it and have a clue as to what people are talking about.

I'll be sure to mark that down as a 'must do' on my next WDW trip.

I too miss the Bears, not so much their original show though. I personally liked the Christmas Hoedown the best...wasn't that show one of the very first times that an attraction was decked out for the holidays (unless Small World Holiday came first i have no idea). And the bears were just so cool...they were the reason why Critter Country was created (back then it was Bear Country for obvious reasons). Henry, you will be missed.

WDW may be more fortunate, but not by much. The thing I liked a lot about the CBJ was the fact that not that many people went in it. I could have seats to myself so I wasn't overly crowded. In WDW, it is very crowded in the shws, usually always full. I also don't like their thater as much. They don't have as good of a waiting room and i think the building is a little smaller. Also the sound quality is horrible.

WDW's version is like moving out of a nice 2 story house into a dinky smelly apartment: you're still fortunate for having a home, but not by much!

I think Winnie the Pooh is on the same level as Snow White, Pinnochio, Mr. Toad, and even Peter Pan. It's actually a very good ride, very colorful and the vehicle moves. So the ride itself is very good, it just gets a bad rep because it replaced CBJ.

Here's a question: IF CBJ was still where it used to be and Winnie the Pooh was somewhere in Fantasyland, would all you people who "hate" it still be against it?? cuz i think you are just put off from it cuz it took over CBJ, much like most people (myself included) were put off by Light Magic cuz it replaced MSEP, even though it was pretty good. get it?

I never thought about this, but now that i am i realize that that's a pretty true concept. one thing that does draw a lot of people to Disneyland is all those fans of HMH. Disneyland is essentially in the neighborhood in Anaheim, so it has more "fans" that attend regularly, whereas WDW is isolated and more of a vacation spot that gets a lot of guests. So probably putting in HMH wouldn't do that much in popularity for WDW since most people go there for the vacation, not cuz of fandome. does that make sense?

Is it also fair that Disneyworld recently created an attraction that is solely unique from Disneyland - The Matterhorn Bobsleds?

It is called Mount Everst Expedition. The mountain look similar to Disneyland's! I think it will be more unique, darn...

Mount Everst Expedition opens somewhere in 2006.
