Default Cruisin' Disney style...anyone?

Have you been on a Disney cruise? Now that they are going to move the Disney Wonder to LA, we are going to do it! Are they really fun? Would ages 19-8 have a good time??? Just curious! Thanks!

I'm thinking my DH and I probably will. Flights are WAY cheaper to LA, then to Florida. I think it sounds fun for anyone, no matter your age.

we've always wanted to do one. We want to go out of FL though so we can go to Castaway Cay. Where is the LA ship going? I'm going to have to look!!

I sailed on the Disney Wonder in 2004. We took the 4 day cruise with a stop in Nassau and Castaway Cay plus a day at sea. The whole thing was everything you would expect from Disney. DCL has done a great job at including things for every age group. There are parts of the ship devoted exclusively to children, teens and adults. Then there are plenty of areas devoted to family activities. Even Castaway Cay is organized that way.

The ships themselves are beautiful. The staterooms are about 30% larger than normal staterooms. The restaurants and theaters are great too. The Walt Disney Theater is where they put on nightly shows. I saw the Golden Mickeys onboard. There is also a nice movie theater called the Buena Vista. There is a very interesting restaurant called the Animator's Pallate where the room slowly changes from black and white into color during the meal. It's a very cool effect. The wait staff even changes uniforms to accompany the change to color.

I will be taking another Disney cruise sometime in the future.

I would love to go on a Disney cruise. My first cruise experience was not a good one (with another cruise line). I hope Disney will go to other locations besides Mexico (Hawaii or Alaska would be awesome!) I have seen the travel channel shows on the Disney cruise and they look amazing. Maybe when our kids get older!

It's on my Bucket List I've heard nothing but positive about them, and they just look neat all around! But how are the prices? How do you go about reserving a Cruise? I'm totally a foreigner to the idea!

^ You can book directly from Disney or any of the gazillion cruise sites on the web. Just to a Google search.

Disney runs a lot of specials on ticket prices, so if you keep your eye out, you can probably get a pretty good deal. There is a huge varience in prices depending on length of cruise, number of people and class of stateroom. Even the cheapest inside staterooms (no window) are really nice, however.

I heard Diz Wonder was going to be an Alaskan Cruise. If so, that'll probably be the one for my family, as my parents said an Alaska cruise is the only one they're really thinking of ever doing again.

vacationstogo.com has some killer last minute deals on all cruise lines... Disney is one of them. If you are able to plan that you can pick up and go a week before the cruise, then it's a great way to save some money!

My youngest is almost 3. Now that DCL will be in L.A. our dream might be coming true!! Our goal is to go on a cruise when Audrey turns 5. At least she will remember it a little better! :)

That is sooo awesome because me and my mom have been wanting to plan a Disney Cruise but we couldn't afford it because of the plane ticket prices! I have to tell my mom! This is gonna be so cool!

really!?!? it's coming to CA! for real? someone told me it was a rumor, so I didn't know if it was true or not. believe me, as much of a nerd as I am, I am pretty slow on these things.

well anyways, I'm so gonna go, run to the front of the ship once i get on board(the bow i think), do the "king of the world" pose, and sing "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic!
