honestly the catwalk set im using is a billion times better than what comes in the "steelworx" set , and the only reason its green is cause if you pay attention to the pic i put up there is some grass showing on the floor which ive already covered up , but even before i covered it up when ever id set the game to night time the catwalks would be normal xD

After watching the video, it is not the X-ray effect. But the x-ray effect is common. In modeling, if you have an object with an opening in it, like the gaps between the catwalks, its sometimes easier, to just make that solid, but put a clear, translucent texture on it, so it looks like its a gap. This happens to people who make Light fixtures, and glass textures. What it does, is you cannot see any scenary through it. Just People, and Tracks. So any thats in that area becomes invisible, or you can see through it, hence its called x-ray effect or issue or whatever. But since on the video you could still see the cars, and the walls and stuff, its not because of the x-ray effect its a Draw distance problem. CS usually doesn't have good draw distance. So when your far way, it becomes invisible, and thats why you saw the grass on the other side. However, if thats the case, then most of those blocks should be invisible, and when you look through the steps you can't see the track. Very odd... Im not sure whats going on lol.

By the way, will you be using your camcorder for the final version, or will you record it in game? I highly suggest in game. If your PC can run the game regularly, or close to regularly, it will run the video recorder extremely smooth! Yes yes, it does take a while longer, because it captures frame by frame, very slowly. This is so your computer has time to think and create the graphics, without ruining speed of the video.
And if you must use a camcorder then us a Tri pod if you've got one. |
