Trouble registering on VMK

I was trying to register on VMK today and it said the member name was already taken. My question is that if our Member Names are our e-mail addresses, how could that name already be being used? Could it be that my e-mail address is the same as my parents? I would really like to join up so if someone could help me, it would be much appreciated.

I don't know. Just type in a different email.
