Utah goes to Anaheim???

I am going to take my son for the first time on October 14-16. I read somewhere about Utah and Anaheim and the 16 - the weekend is bad.....but what about the 14 and 15? I was hoping it wouldn't be too crowded which is why I picked this time, it's a Tuesday and Wednesday....I was thinking middle of October, and when kids are in school so it sounded nice in my head lol
is this a bad time?

UEA (lovingly referred to as Utah Escapes to Anaheim) is October 16 & 17th. All the schools in the entire state are off, and I swear, most of them go to Disneyland. The 16-19th will be unbearable. You'll still probably get bigger than normal crowds the days you are going since some people will take a day or two before the 16th off, but it shouldn't be horrible I would think. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

we did. We were going that same week and ended up changing it to the 9-12th. There is a gaming convention that weekend but hopefully they will all just stay at the convention center. Finding a hotel was horrible, but we finally did. The weekend before was Miley/ Gay days. October is BUSY haha. I changed it just becuase I swear everyone I run into here says "we're going to Disneyland" and I started to freak out

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don't want you getting stuck with the crowds either!
How old is your son? Heck if you end up there on the 10th, I have two extra tickets to the Halloween party haha.

This was going to be a bgif family trip since it will be my son's first trip, and everyone already got the days off of work and the hotel room and such

ah well, maybe it won't be too bad. I think I have been there around this time before but don't remember it being so bad

Yeah UEA is not a good weekend to be there. People I know usually just add on another day to their trip. When we would go while I was in elementary school, we would take off the day before and after UEA for extra time, without taking off too much school. However, not having school anymore....I would avoid it at all costs now.

Basically a huge percentage of Utah will head to Disneyland. However, some of them go to Disney World, Mexico, or Hawaii. But Disneyland is the closest so most of them go there. UEA is a conference for all the teachers in Utah. So school is out. A long weekend usually means the families head some where warmer.

I read about it in the screambox.... people were saying it was really busy and couldn't figure out why..... I can't imagine why that still happens. People come home and complain about how busy it was. Well duh, you're entire street all went to DL, did you think you were the only ones?

lol, Yes they do! Everytime I talk to friend that is going for UEA, they all say the same thing. "We're going to take off one more day before, so we can go to Disneyland. I figure since it's just a Utah thing and it's a short weekend, no one will be there!" The problem with that logic is, it's too simple. If it was easy to plan and figure out, it's easy for everyone else too. Meaning, it will be busy.
