Default suggestions for May trip

Hey,

Can I get some suggestions on a week to go in May?

We are looking to maximize the following....

longest hours
Splash Mountain, Rivers of America, and, if possible, Tom Sawyers Island must be open
Disneyland railroad open??

Crowd size must be projected to be rather small.

I figure you guys that live close can give me better feedback. Thanks!

P.S. what is the story on getting in the park for the Pirates Premier? Cost extra? when is it?

This May Disneyland is again hosting the Pirates 3 Premiere. As for the specific dates I am not quite sure. I am assuming mid month. There is no extra cost, just park admission. To see the celebrities you must get there before the gates open to claim your spot on the red carpet. Massive crowds for this event.

Other than that, it is usually ok. Schools have not really let out for the summer yet. The weather is typically nice, a shower maybe here and there but overall a good month to go IMHO.

TSI should be open after the Premiere takes place. The railroad should be operating as normal unless otherwise stated on the Disney website for refurbishment. The best way to figure out what attractions will be open, you should refer to the official website to verify closures.

GOOD LUCK!

I've gone in May for the last 2 years (not during POTC movie premieres, though) and I LOVED it !!! Good weather -- not too hot, but nice and sunny, moderate crowds, and short wait time at the Downtown Disney restaurants. Have a great time!

Just avoid Memorial Day weekend. Its crowded then. I will be there May 23 for sure because my daughters school will be marching down Main Street again this year.
