Talking Special Meals with Characters

I would love to do an event with some specialiness. I'd like to hear about the tea time with Marry Poppins and the dinner with Ariel at DCA, or the Princess Breakfast. I've never done any so I would love to know people's experiences.

The only character meals I've been to is Goofy's Kitchen, and I'd be happy to tell you about that one! We've been there a few times, once for dinner and twice for breakfast, but breakfast has better food. The buffet is huge, with both an adults section and one for kids, so there is plenty of fun food choices for kids (especially picky eaters like mine.) We saw lots of characters there, they will come by your table for photo ops. Let's see, last time we were there, we saw Donald, Aladdin, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, Goofy, Pluto, The Mad Hatter and Tigger. The price was about $24 per person, but you will get your money's worth. It was a blast each time we've been there! I hope this helps you a bit and hopefully somebody will be able to post more about Mary Poppin's tea or Ariel's Grotto.

I used to work the character breakfasts and dinners. It's one of the best experiences you can purchase because you can relax and actually have some ONE ON ONE time with the characters as they come to YOU. No crowds, no "others" in your photos, just your family and the characters. Goofy's Kitchen is one of the best, but so is the Plaza Inn on Main Street.

the character dining at DCS is at Ariels Groto. i've gone there everytime i go to DCA. i really like it, the meal is not expensive, and mickey, minie, pluto, goofy, chip and dale will visit every table and sign autographs and pose for pics. its really nice. also ariel will be out for a photo opt. i like the view of the DCA and the view of the lake in the middle of the park. i really enjoy it, the food is not bad either, i always get the burger, and its huge. :O)

Sorry Frozenmilk, but Ariel's Grotto is now a Princess character meal. No more Mickey, Minney or Goofy! I haven't been since they changed it to the Princess meal but I do like the food at Ariel's. I always get so stuffed!!! Goofy's Kitchen is great too! Lots of characters there! Mickeysgirl...most of the character meals are about in the same price range. It's worth the splurge though!

^YEp. I haven't been since they changed it to the Princesses either. I really enjoy Ariels grotto. Every time I have eaten there, the service and food have been fantastic! I think the price is not bad at all for all the food that you get! I just still wish it was Mickey and friends.

There are several charecter meals you can attend within the resort.
Goofy's Kitchen is a must for children and adults alike. They serve breakfast/brunch, luch and dinner.
Featuring Goofy of course, you will also be entertained by chip and dale, Alice and the Mad Hatter, Minni Mouse, Jasmin and sometimes aladdin, And many others. They do switch the charecters often.
The next one I will suggest is within Disney's Paridice Pier Hotel. The PCH Grill has a lovely buffet aloha breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch. They are a little smaller in size when it comes to occupancy, so make sure you make a reservation for this one. You can dance around and do the hula with Lilo and Stich or even have a hulahoop contest with them as well. GREAT FUN!
The Plaza Inn within Disneyland use to be the princess breakfast, But now it is called Minnie Mouse and friends has a Wonderful buffet breakfast! You have the chance to meet all the winnie the pooh charecters and Minnie Mouse herself. We also bumped into Captain Hook and chip and Dale. This is also a great Place to meet Max Goofy's son.
Ariels Grotto is like you are stepping into Ariels world. This is not a buffet like most of the other dining experiences and can be a bit pricey, but if you want to thrill the little princesses in your family, it is a wonderful time for them. Not to mention for the husbands. If the Princesses are in a cheeky mood, They do try very hard to make your husbands blush by a little innocent flirting.... lol
What happens?
They come to your table and create a very special time for you and your family. Weather it be signing the autographs and photo opps, or just goofing around with you and your children. It is such a pleasure to have this opportunity, because sometimes waiting in the lines within the parks can be time consuming not to mention you never know if they will be walked away by a CM. I highly recomend anyone experiencing any of these dining opportunities.
