Default Resort Hotels at Capacity??

Hey all, I'm a long time reader but this is my first post. I'm planning my next trip for Dec 18th-20th and while looking around at Disneyland website I noticed that all three hotels have no vacancy on those days which I expected, I wasn't planning on staying on site anyway. What I found strange, however, is that it seems that, according to the website, all three resort hotels are compltely full on many dates after Thanksgiving including weekends and weekdays. Some dates I looked at were Nov 28th-30th and Dec 5th-7th both are which are middle of the week and between Thanksgiving and the first week of Christmas, which should be an off-time. I found this very interesting. Is this normal?

Yep. We are going Dec. 8 & 9 and I noticed the Disney properties were booked also (not that we could afford staying there anyway ) Last year I went the 15th and 16th and it was noticeably more crowded then the previous year, on an earlier weekend. I was hoping it would not be as crowded this year since the 50th is over, but only time will tell. Have a great trip!

We were planning our Christmas trip back in August....we were looking at December 5-9, waited a week to confirm that those dates would work with our work schedule, went to book it, and it was full! We ended up having to push our schedule out another week in order to stay at GCH. Crazy! As much as I want to go, I'm starting to wonder if it is going to be enjoyable. I'm really hoping that the christmas tree doesn't catch on fire this year while at GCH.

Anytime you get close to travel, you're always going to get the problem of availability. We get people here that call all the time wanting to go to Hawaii in a week and usually, chances are there isn't anything available, even two weeks or three down the road. If you're doing last minute travel, it's best to try and get everything done a few months in advance, especially during high season.

What blows me away is the price differences for our Left Coast hotels compared to the resort prices for the the Value Resorts in Florida! I love to stay in the Disney hotels, but I can't afford the new supply and demand rates. It'd almost be worth it to fly to Florida and stay in the Value resorts than to pay the exuberant prices for the DLR hotels.
