Planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort

Our family is going to the West Coast parks for the first time next summer. To help us have a better time, I have a few questions for those experienced Disneylandians! First of all, during June, July, and August, what would be the best month, week, and days to visit concerning crowds? Also, what would be a good general schedule/order to do the parks? What restaurants on property have the best value/price? Are Blue Bayou and Carnation Cafe good? What about fast food? Where should I watch Remember, Parade of Dreams, and Main Street Electrical Parade and when should I arrive? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

i find that going middle/late august is best. much less crowds and somewhat cooler weather. as 4 watching the parades and shows u can c the nightime parade of dreams at the hub and then after that get your space for the fireworks at the hub(absolutly the best place 2 c them). but be quick because it fills up fast

I'm not much help for most of your questions, but I have eaten at both the blue bayou and tha carnation cafe multiple times, and I have never been disappointed. The food and service are always fantastic! Plus, you cannot beat the atmosphere of the blue bayou, and the people watching on MSUSA for the Carnation. I think they are both reasonably priced for Disney(just a few dollars more for what you would pay for anything else at the park, depending on what you order), plus they are sit down, serviced meals, not a la cart(sp?). Another nice restaurant is Ariels Grotto in Paradise Pier in California Adventure. If you have kids, they will love it. Everyone pays a set price, around $16 I think, and you get a starter(soup or salad), entre and dessert. Plus, a lot of characters walk around the entire time you dine. Last time I was there: Mickey, Pluto, Donald, Chip and Dale, and Goofy. It was great!

As for what month, I have been in both June and August. From my personal experience June seemed far less crowded then August. But during June, the park may close earlier because of Grad night I beleive. Hope this helps! Have fun

Also, if you have never been, I recommend staying at least three days, so you won't have to rush around the entire time.

I would really like to stay in the DL hotel and i will spend at DL and DCA for 3 days and 2 nights. The food is really good and so does the service.

well i went to Disneyland in July 2005 and we went on the 2nd week of july...it wasn't bad at all but it's usually VERY hot but very enjoyable...I'm going again in 2 months, July and we got very good air rates like Continental and AA(American Airlines) and Delta. Have a safe and enjoyable trip!!!

We usually do our vacation as soon as school is out in June (we went early this year for the Pirate's premiere) June has never been too bad, but I have heard some horror stories from people who go in July and August. "Too hot, too many people, etc.." As far as restaurants, we have had good luck with Redd Rockett's Pizza port, over by Space Mtn. The prices are relatively good and the food is good. My son loves the pizza. The pastas are pretty good there as well. The Blue Bayou is good if you want to splurge a bit and have some ambiance. I recommend the Prime Rib with a Cookie Boat for dessert.

"Minnie & Friends - Breakfast in the Park" at Plaza Inn

Go there for a GREAT BREAKFAST, you have to at least have 2 good meals at Disneyland, I have tried the Blue Bayou, but will try it soon in the coming months. I say defintely try the Plaza Inn for breakfast, its with the characters so if you have any kids it a great time for pictures. Usually they all come up to you and are very friendly, I know I enjoyed it at my last visit last year in March.
