Default Which night time show?

I'm going to disneyland next month (May 14 - 16) for the first time since 1991. I recently checked the website to check which days and times the parades, fireworks, and fantasmic will be showing. I was a little disappointed to see that Electrical light parade, fantasmic, and Remember dreams come true all are only showing one night of our trip, sunday May 14. So this leads me to my dilemma. What show would you leave out, knowing that you only have one chance for any of them? I was thinking I'd leave out electrical light parade since I've seen it several times in the past, both at WDW and at DL back in the late 80s/early 90s (I have it on tape from its recent run in WDW in 2000). But I really want to see both RDCT and fantasmic. I've heard amazing things about both shows and I'd hate to miss one of them.

I did notice that they have 2 fantasmic shows that night. Is the second show typically less crowded than the first? And if we watch RDCT at 9:25 from the hub, is it feasible to make it to fantasmic by 10:30 and still get decent viewing?

And, finally, I saw on another site something about preferred viewing for fantasmic and that it's lower scale than the dessert party on the balcony. What is the preferred fantasmic viewing and how does it compare to the dessert party? I'd love to do the dessert party, but don't quite have the budget for it (our big extra is gonna be the walk in walts footsteps tour). Is the preferred ground level seating less expensive? How do you book it? And, my brother has spina bifida and will be traveling by wheelchair. Do they have roped off areas for disabled guests like WDW does for these shows?

Thanks in advance! Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think that you should watch RDCT for shure because it wont be here as long as Fantasmic, but I strongly recommend that you watch RDCT then
at 10:30 you can watch Fantasmic. The crowds wont be as big as as the 9:00 show so you should be able to get good seats on the 10:30 show. Hope you have fun=)

Yeah! That's a great plan to follow if the nightshows are only going to perform on one day of your trip. Go to "Remember... Dreams Come True" at 9:25 then head over to Fantasmic! for the 10:30 show. They're both awesome shows, and I especially love FANTASMIC!

Hey, you'll be there during the tail end of my trip!

I'm kind of facing the same dilemma as well, in that my associates and I are taking the Saturday off (we're going May 10-15, with me flying back on the 16th), which means we only have 2 nights to take in 3 evening shows. I suspect we're going to try at least the fireworks and one of the other ones each night, whether that's Electrical Parade then fireworks or fireworks then Fantasmic.

Me? I would actually skip the fireworks and do the Electrical Parade and Fantasmic. However, if you haven't already seen the fireworks and have already seen the Electrical Parade... well, the choice is easy then.

EDIT: but as I think about, I'm wondering what the heck the dessert party and/or reserved seating are. Because the idea of enjoying Fantasmic with heaps of desserty goodness sounds really, really good...

I fyou went in 91 then you have already seen the Parade. RDCT (at least this version) is only around until November. Fabian is right, see the fireworks first, (I shkipped them last time I was there and regret it.) then hit Fantasmic.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think we'll go for fireworks at 9:25 then skidaddle over to Fantasmic and hope that we can get close enough to actually see it for the 10:30 show. RDCT is the only thing that I've absolutely never seen, so it's important to me to try to see it. Fantasmic is my favorite show at WDW and I've heard that WDW's fantasmic doesn't hold a candle to DL's. So hopefully it will all work out.

Then again...theoretically...if I want my family to hate me, I could go to DCA saturday night to see the electrical light parade. I'm buying an AP for the discounts and we'll arrive late saturday afternoon. Everyone else is just getting 3 day hoppers, so I'd have to go alone. I guess that'll depend on how the rest of saturday goes.

Question

Can anyone tell me about the reserved seating for Fantasmic and/or the dessert party talked about here? I'm taking my 2 daughters on May 7 and would like to do that if possible

Watching Fantasmic! and eating desserts? Sounds good to me.

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,

The Reserved seating option for Fantasmic! is available to all guests. However you must make reservations now. I highly recommend the premium viewing over balcony viewing. Heres a comparison

Premium: Along the banks of ROA. Best view. It's near the raft dock by the churro cart in New Orleans.

Balcony: The Balcony is actually in the Disney Gallery. Theres a balcony that has panaromic view of the River and TSI. Expensive though. Not a good place for fireworks.

In the premium viewing area you can stay there for the fireworks if you reserved the seats for the 9 PM show.

Desert is included in both packages. And a choice of hot chocolate, coffee or soda for a drink. Well good luck!

Thanks!

Do you have an approximate cost for the premium seating? I know the balcony seating is like $50'ish. Is the premium seating less expensive? How good can you see the fireworks from it? Is the hub better for fireworks viewing?

How do you make the reservations? Is it the dining reservation number?

Thanks for the info. I called today - it's $59 per person balcony - $10 cheaper for kids in the premier seating.
