Default Might not make it for the 50th :-(

I know it's 51 now, but I understand that the whole affair was an 18 month long celebration ending some time in early Nov?

Does anyone know what will be changed after November?? I guess the crowns will be taken off the castle and no more golden ears and what else? I'm really down about this:-(. I just keep trying to think that it's still going to be Disneyland but *ouch*.

Actually the new "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration will begin Oct. 1st. So, I THINK the 50th celebration will end on September. Condensed versions of the parade and fireworks will stay after the 50th though.

Hey DisneyPrincess, I totally feel you pain as I'm in the same kind of situation.

Everythime I've rung the DLR line they've come up with a different answer, but mainly focusing on the end of September, which is when I'm going, although one time I rung them they were going to start taking down the decorations in mid-september!

It's hard for me because I'm all the way down under in Australia.

They should really start advertising that the 50th will come to an end around late September since September is next month and if people are unaware that it's soon ending.

When I first made our family plans this past Jan. to go to DLR in Oct. I was told by the CM that the 50th would be going on till Nov.

After reading tons of posts from other members on this board and others saying that 50th merchandise is starting to be hard to find, I call Vacation Planning (since we are staying at a disney property).

I was told the 50th would be ending by the end of Sept. - Now I'm asking Vacation Planning to purchase Golden Ears for my kids ahead of time to make they have them!

I heard it was ending in september so i have been scrambling all summer to get back to Disneyland. Through a process that has left me utterly broke I have alredy gone to the 50th 3 times and now im going back next week to say my goodbyes.

Im gonna miss the 50th. The feel of everything was really magical. On the brightside only 49 years till the 100th! Now that will be a celebration I cant miss!

I scheduled my trip thru Walt Disney travel, and part of my package was a Disney lanyard and a beautiful 50th anniversary pin. I saw a few 50th collectibles at the parks, but they seem to be selling out. I'd say don't worry so much about the 50th; just enjoy the Disney magic -- it's always wonderful. And have a great time when you visit!

Do any of you think that one of the reasons why they don't advertise the end of the 50th is because they want to prevent last minute rush in visitors?

I doubt it; a last minute rush would just mean last minute dollars to the Disney folks.

I called the park and they said October 1st is that last day of the celebration. So....I'm sooooooo planning to go again before it's over!

Reading those last two lines made me want to cry. Omigosh. I'm going to miss the 50th celebration and all of the good memories it's brought this past year.

BUT I am sure that Disneyland will continue to be wonderful regardless of what it is celebrating.

Don't be sad...we all have birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, etc. Think of it like it was Disneyland's quincinera - a special moment to appreciate, but it will continue on...
