June Crowds and Pirates

Does anyone know how the crowds are in June? I might be going anywhere between June 19-25 for a couple days. I went a couple years ago during spring break and the crowds were unbearable!! I know school will be out but I'm hoping the big summer crowds won't be there!?? Also, I saw Pirates and the Blue Bayou are supposed to reopen June 16. Does anyone know if they will be open by then for sure?? Pirates is one of my favorites and I probably would think twice about going during that time if it was down!!

Speaking of Pirates, does anyone know if this refurb is to change it drastically? I sure hope they don't because it is a true classic and is fine just the way it is!! Thanks for any and all advice in advance!!!!

I will be going there a few days after you! For my honeymoon! But I would definately expect the crowds to be pretty large. It is the begining of summer, and most kids are out of school. Plus a lot of foreign travelers will also be there. I have heard that POTC and BB are not opening until June 21, but I am not positive. Thats what I heard a long time ago. I would prep yourself for pretty busy crowds. Are you going during the weekend or during the week? During the week it would be less busy, but still there will be a lot of people. Have fun on your honeymoon!! I will probably go over weekdays, so I'm hoping the crowds won't be too bad. It's really not worth it for me to go if it is as busy as spring break. Those crowds were horrible!! I think the refurbishment schedule on VF says POTC is supposed to reopen June 16. Maybe I'll have to call Disneyland and see what they say!! Anyone else have june experience!?? :)

We were there last June, from the 26-30th, and the crowds were not as bad as I had figured they might be. Our longest wait was about 25 minutes for Peter Pan, but between Fastpass and single rider, we managed to go on everything else without waiting in horrendous lines. The food lines weren't that bad either. We didn't go on a Saturday, though, we went Sunday through Thursday and Space Mountain wasn't open yet, so factor that in. This June could be a completely different story. Hope this helps!

The summer time is usually packed at Disneyland. Needless to say, it will be even more packed since they might have a premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

What's this about a premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean 2? I must be out of the loop!! :) Are they premiering it in June even though it doesn't come out till mid-July? Thanks for everyone's advice!! Has anyone else gone during the end of June??

Pirates is supposed to open June 24. I'm going to be there the 25 thru July 2. The crowds are large but manageable. Use fastpass as much as you can!

The last 3 years I've gone in August and this is the first year in a long time I'll be going in June. Are the crowds in June significantly larger than in August? I'm going June 13,14,15,17, and 18. Maybe POTC will open early! WISHFUL THINKING!!! I'm gonna go with the VF refurb schedual (June 16th instead of June 21st)!

Okay, now I'm pretty sure that I will be going June 26th - June 30th. Sooooo, Pirates should be back open, which I'm very thrilled about, but I'm a little concerned about the crowds. I don't think it will be as bad as July or August, or spring break, but I'm hoping it won't be too bad!!?? Everyone else going in June, have a blast!!!!

I'll be there June 22-26. Hopefully, Pirates will be open....I'm banking on June 16 because of soft openings. I can handle the crowds..I don't think it will be as bad as it was last year.

I normally go every august and i find the crowds to be average. They arent too bad.

Okay everyone, I just got off the phone with a rep. from Disneyland. He said Pirates will be closed March 6th through June 24th. He said, of course, it is subject to change, but that they try pretty hard to stick with those dates. So, this is later than I had planned, but hopefully they'll open early and I should be able to go on one of my favorite rides and eat at my favorite restaurant, The Blue Bayou!!! Hope this helps everyone!!

Soft openings usually begin about 1-2 weeks before the actual reopen date though, so you might still be able to go on POTC and eat at Blue Bayou. Have a fun time no matter what happens =)

We're going to be there June 27th thru July 2nd. I sure hope pirates is open by then, it's my husbands favorite ride!
