Does anyone know why Disneyland is open from 6:00AM to 5:00PM on Saturday June 24th?

I think that is Thursday, July 6th.

Ahhh! Thank you TimmyII. That makes sense. I have been out of Souther California for to long. I forgot about Grad Night. We already have all of our travel plans done, hotel, airfare, etc. But we will be at Disneyland at 6:30AM and stay as late as we can and then head to DCA. Thanks again for all the info.

Wow, I never realized they did Grad Nights on Saturdays--I always thought they had them on slower days like Thursday. Who'd of thunk it? =)

I used to do all the Grad Nites and they varied from day to day depending on how many schools booked for each night!

Now there's an AWESOME shift. No traffic going home! :)

I thought the Pirates Premiere was July 6.

Yes, the movie opens to the public on 7/7/06. Disneyland is having a Pirates premiere event for the public on 7/6/06. You can check out the details here.

It looks 99.9% certain (according to a host of sources - other disney sites, potc fan sites, cast fan sites, announcements to travel agents) that 6/24 will be the actual premiere of POTC II. Just like with the premiere of POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl, this looks to be an invitation only event to be held on the west side of Disneyland. In the week before, huge grandstands will be set up along the Rivers of America and a gigantic movie screen erected on Tom Sawyer's Island.

If you look at Disneyland's schedule, it pretty much mirrors the schedule that the park ran for the POTC premiere back in 2003. Fantasmic will be down from 6/17 until 6/28 (to allow for the premiere setup/tear down). The "Strange hours" on the 24th are the same hours that the park was open last time they did this. Guests will be allowed to line up along the red carpet in Main Street to see the celebrities walk in, but will have to leave before the actual premiere event kicks into gear.

We've rescheduled our annual June trip to avoid the whole mess...
