Default Is Januray the best time to go to Disneyland?

This is not my next DL trip, it is in Feb. still unconfirmed.

My older brother and his friends are going to Disneyland this Januray and my brother is driving including his other friend, Kevin(he really wants to go to Disneyland, because he hasn't been there for 4 years). My brother has 5 friends going with him. One guy came all the way from Oregon is going to. My brother's friend's friend. Is it the best time to go to Disneyland at Januray 2006? I think the crowd is not that big. Well it is after Winter vacation. Do you have any ideas to help my Bro's friends have a great time at DL? So I can tell them. They all know that I am a Disneyland vacation planning and expert. But can you guys gave me some suggestions?

My 600th post!!!

I would think Jan 2006 would be great! As long as its after winter break and after the first of the year. It tends to be pretty slow, and it is off season. I would recommend going anytime between now and March ( excluding Winter break time and Spring break). They should have a great time and the crowds should be low. This is one of my most favorite time to go to the DLR, and Im sure they will have a great time!

Question Just went in September, park EMPTY, all rides open

I just found a totally empty park, walked right on to all of the rides in the first few hours of the first day, same second day, lots of photo ops, and none of the rides was down for maintenance. I have not been in January, but I am assuming that this would be the season for quite a few closures for refurbs... You may want to check the maintenance schedule and see what is up at that time this year. I would hate to see your bro go when Pirates and HM are closed.

I went two years ago in january and it was awsome...we have also planned another vacation for january 2006...need i say more! If you want to know the best time to go look up the school schedules for the local area and see when they go back to school from christmas break..then schedule your vacation after that if possible.

January is a GREAT time to go. Before Super Bowl and after New Year's. I always spend two days there on January 28th and 29th for my birthday and the park is dead. Good thing is you can go on everything pretty quickly. Bad thing is you can get it all done almost too quickly and have little left that you haven't already done.

As a former cast member, I can tell you that USUALLY (and keep in mind we are celebrating the 50 years thing!) the slowest times are end of September, October, and mid January through Mid March.

I believe it. I went September 25 (Saturday) of 2004 and there were 10 to 20 minute waits on everything. This year however, we went on Sept 23 (friday) and it was the same thing. However, we went Saturday and there were 30 to 50 minute wait times for everything. Space Mountain was the worst

We were there Jan. 4-7 1995 and it was absolutely empty! Got on all rides with no waits on anything. There were lots of characters out and we were the only ones getting pictures and hanging out with them. The weather was a bit chilly but otherwise beautiful. However, that was 10 years ago so it might be different now.
