Unhappy How does FEBRUARY look at DL?

Well guys, we have been planning our annual Christmas trip for next week, but it looks like it's gonna be raining ALL week, and the parents aren't to happy about the idea of driving the 5 hrs to DL in the rain. Needless to say, our trip is most likely going to be postponed unless the weather looks better by Sunday. (We were gonna drive up on Tuesday, go to the parks on Wed & Thurs, and drive home Friday)

SO now we are looking at moving our trip to February-- maybe go to the parks on the 18th and 19th. Anyway, I thought I'd vent to you guys here, see if you have any words of advice for me...anything I should know about a possible February trip (there are no times listed on the DL site, but maybe you guys have some inside info on park times those days, and what may or may not be closed???)

I'm really depressed as I always love going to the park during December, so maybe you could cheer me up with fun perks of a February trip? Are there ANY?

Thanks you guys!
Merry Christmas!

I went February 21 this year, and let me tell you, there were almost no people. I saw the same people multiple times throughout the day which is uncommon at Disneyland. Then it started raining, and most of the people that were there had left when it started to rain. Just bring a poncho in case of rain. The only downside beside rain (but don't let that spoil your fun) is that February is part of the "off-season", so some rides might be down for refurbishment before the "on-season" begins.

February, as long as you avoid a three day weekend, tends to be EMPTY! You'll get in lots of rides with short lines. However, you will also be forced to contend with probable refurbishments and minimal entertainment programs.

I'd suggest asking your parents to reconsider Disneyland in the rain - it's actually QUITE fun if you expect it and come prepared! I make a point of going to the park if it's going to rain. Sure, fireworks and Fantasmic! may end up canceled if it carries into the night... but especially past sundown, the rain just adds to the magical, surreal feeling! Plus, the crowds tend to avoid the rain (the locals seem to think that a drizzle merits bunkering down for a hibernation ). I've been at the park at 10AM in the offseason and been one of literally a half dozen person as far as the eye can see in NOS/ Rivers of America.

Either way, you'll have a splendid time!

Feb is the BEST TIME!!!! I love going the end of Jan, early Feb. You walk on everything!! You also run the risk of things being down for refurb, but honestly, it doens't matter at all!

Thank you guys!! I am starting to feel better about either situation. As we get closer to Saturday (our deadline for a decision) the forecast is starting to look better and better.

And boy, February sounds great too. I'm just not too happy with the idea of some rides being down. Hopefully it isn't the really good ones :0

I'll also be down there in February! I'm just worried that the calander on the DL site is still down for that month, anyone know why that is? By the way mickeylover you should be warned that PotC should be down for its referb around the time you are going, or so the calander said before it vanished, so New Orleans Square will be the deadest part of the park I'd imagine.

Every time we go, we buy a poncho. When we get home, we say, "We must remember to bring these next time we go."

Next time we go. It rains. We forgot the ponchos. We buy another set. When we get home, we say, "We must remember to bring these next time we go." Next time we go. It rains. We forgot the ponchos. We buy another set.

It's a vicious circle...

The thing I would watch out for in February (it happened to me) is presidents week. Since there is Presidents Day, Lincolns Bday and Washingtons Bday all really close together - the local schools give the kids a whole week off called Presidents week. It was packed in Disneyland!!! Worst trip of my life..... it was pretty miserable, so avoid if all possible. But other that Feb is my fav time to go

^ I was there Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and Wednesday was pretty darn bad. We went to the parks for a couple of hours and even rode California Screamin', which was still fun...but hurt a little bit. Wish we could have brought the baby with us, but he stayed in the hotel with my mom where it was warm and toasty. Tuesday and Thursday were great though!

You guys went on Screamin!? You're crazy! haha I was talking to somebody who said they did the same thing and really regretted it because of the rain pelting down!

Did you guys get to see a lot of characters? We never usually see them, but because they were all inside like us, we got TONS of character pics! It was great!
