I have gone through the list of economy and moderate hotels of the good neighbors and looked up rates and reviews on trip advisor, but I?m just confused because there are a lot of hotels to choose from, and some of the reviews people write on trip advisor make some of these hotels seem like hell on earth. Something I have always been afraid of hotel-wise is staying in a hotel that is not a big chain (such as Marriott, Best Western, ect..). All that I want in a hotel is: not too expensive, an ok continental breakfast (but not that necessary), clean rooms with space for 4 people, close to the main entrance (but not that necessary since we have rental car, would be nice though so we wont have to go through the hassle of parking!), high speed internet, friendly staff, overall nice-looking hotel. Any ideas? Thanks! |

That's the problem, there are so many to choose from... I just looked up HoJo Anaheim though, and it looks very good. Some other ones that have caught my eye are Camelot, Carousel and Candy Cane Inn, but I'm not sure about these because they are not big chain hotels

Big chain doesn't mean quality. I stayed in the EconoLodge on Katella, and it was pretty terrible. The bed was like a slab of cement. I wrote a review here in

Try the Marriott Fairfield Inn. The rooms there are always clean, it's short walking distance to the park and you have a Milly's and McDonald's on site. As well as an outdoor pool and hot tub. Rates there are usually pretty decent.

Another possibility is the Best Western Park Place Inn on Harbor Blvd. It is directly across the street from the entrance to the park.

I have stayed at Residence Inn Resort Area
http://marriott.com/hotels/travel/sn...-garden-grove/ It was nice. Very clean, comfy rooms. The beds were great after a long day of walking. Wonderful free full breakfast buffet. The only down side was the distance. Kinda far away if you are going to take the shuttle but you said you have a rental car so that should be ok. I am very picky about my hotels and this one was very clean. The bed was probably the best thing about this hotel along with the breakfast. When your traveling with a lot of people it helps to cut some costs. Also I stayed at Paridise Pier @ Disneyland and was pretty disappointed. The rooms at Residence Inn were nicer and the beds were 100% better. This year we are going at the same time as you. We decided on The Park Vue Inn http://www.parkvueinn.com/ We are going to try them this year because of the location. I wanted something closer and one that offered a larger room big enough for 6 people. It has some pretty good reviews and the price is just right. Good luck on your hotel hunt. I hope this helps. I know how important finding the right place is. That is why I keep trying new places.

We'v been staying at Park Vue Inn for 7 years and love it!
1. Walk across the street and you're at the park! 2. Free breakfast! 3. Fridge and Microwave in every room! 4. Great price! 5. Rooms were just refurbished not too long ago! 6. Walk across the street and you're at the park!!!

We've stayed at the Park Place Inn right across the street 3 times now, and we LOVE it. I know you have a rental car, but it's sooooo nice to be able to walk right across the street and take a break during the middle of the day. You're going at the end of July, so it will be very hot during the day and busy. The thing we use to do is get up bright and early and hit the park right as it opened, then take an hour or two break around 1:00-2:00. Let the kids swim and you rest and relax for awhile, then hit it again around 4:00-5:00, have some dinner and enjoy the park til closing.
The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable, the service is very nice and the front desk will give you coupons for the resturant next door for kids to eat a free breakfast. We've tried other hotels, but we always come back to the BW Park Place Inn. Good luck finding what you want and have a wonderful trip!!!!! |

Have you thought of staying at the Embassy Suites Hotels? It is not a moderate or economy hotel but it is really reasonable. I usually pay about $125.00/night plus that hotel comes with a lot of benefits. All of the rooms are suites with two beds or one if you request it, plus a pull out bed from a couch. Plus they have complimentary breakfast from 6am - 10am. It is a buffet style cook to order breakfast so you can eat breakfast and save $$$ on eating in the park. They do have a shuttle that goes to and from DLR all day for about $2/person. I have always stayed at the Embassy Suites and have never had a bad experience. Plus if you are going with a lot of people the rooms have a door between the living area and the bedroom so there can be some privacy with two rooms...
