I think they need a credit card # to hold the room, but you can pay cash for the room once you get there. I believe you need to be 18 to rent a room, they will check ID when you're checking in.

18, unless the hotel features gaming, like in Vegas, you'd have to be 21.
They're also very good with security, so whoever the room is under is who is responsible. A few years ago, when I was the one who reserved the room, one of our guests forgot her cell phone in the room and went back to get it. She didn't have a key and figured the front desk would let her in because she could tell them anything about me lol. Well, they had to call me and get all the information. Lengthy, but it's good that they value security.

The age required to book a hotel room is 18 years old if there is no gambling. (Las Vegas requires you to be 21). You are required to show ID and a valid credit card upon check in for the room damage deposit. This I know of for a fact since I am a travel agent. :)

The 18 "rule" is tied to law. You have to be the age of majority (18) to be legally bound by a contract. Renting a hotel room is a contract and therefore subject to the age of majority law.

That's weird, for the scavenger hunt my best friend and I stayed off-site and we had to be 21 to book. She had to do it because there were still 10 days before my 21st :D Maybe that's just that hotel? I don't know.
That makes me happy that I can book a DL hotel room now! :)
