Default Guest Assistance Pass

Does anyone know if the park still issues the Guest Assistance Passes? We have a couple of people in our party who have orthopedic problems, and would greatly benefit from them.....

Default Guest Assistance Pass--REPLY

Unfourntely, Disneyland will not issue Guest Assitace Pass's because... they simply do not exsist! Unless you rent a wheelcahir of ECV then your out of luck... I sugest just using the fastpass system to your advantage... and if your willing, go ahead and rent the ECV/Wheelchair.....

Hope this helped....

Peace

I got one 2 years ago in June 2005. And they were very accomodating. I was just curious if they still did them. I have a chronic foot problem which requires a walking cast. I don't necessarily need a wheelchair, but standing in long lines would be brutal. I emailed the park today and inquired....haven't heard back yet.

I know there was a discussion of these in
Son has Auspergers/Autism - suggestions? in Disneyland Resort Trip Planning. ...Which is where I think this thread should be, too... Hang on everybody!

The GAC passes do exist, yet I've never had to obtain one so I can't say exactly how it's done. If you find yourself at Disneyland and still do not know, then I'd say go to City Hall and they'll tell you what to do from there.

City Hall does issue GAC's still although the process can be painful depending on the person at the counter. Usually depending on age of person requesting they are given right away but if you look young enough to be a college student then they question you right away.

My grandmother has a hip problem so when we go with her she gets one and they allow you to go in a faster line. They work great if you cannot stand in line for long.

I went to DL with my friends family, and my friends brother has ADHD, he just had to talk to his doctor to get one, so you need a doctors note.

I emailed Disneyland about this, and one of my guests may need one on our next trip. Here's what they said:

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your e-mail to the DISNEYLAND? Resort.

We are very pleased that you and your family will be vacationing with us
and we appreciate your desire to make your visit as comfortable and
enjoyable as possible.

As you may know, the DISNEYLAND? Resort strives to provide mainstream
access whenever possible, that is, all Guests use the same entrance and
queues. Information regarding specific attraction entrance procedures
can be found at City Hall in DISNEYLAND? Park or the Guest Relations
Lobby in DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE? Park. Some attractions have
alternative entrances for Guests with disabilities. These are intended
to offer Guests using wheelchairs, or with service animals, a more
convenient entrance to the attraction. Alternative entrances are not
intended to bypass waiting lines.

You may wish to stop by Guest Relations or City Hall upon your arrival
to obtain more information about our services for Guests with
disabilities. There is a service option that has been created
specifically for the benefit of Guests who, for various reasons, may
require special assistance. The Resort can issue a Guest Assistance Card
for Guests with a non-apparent special assistance need. Depending on a
Guest's particular need, this card will alert our Cast Members to
provide special assistance such as allowing Guests admission to
attractions through alternative entrances, where applicable. This card
can be issued upon your arrival to the theme parks, but cannot be
arranged in advance. To accommodate individual needs, Guests are asked
to discuss their assistance requests with a Guest Relations Cast Member
prior to the card being issued. Proof of disability is not required.

In addition, some Guests may be concerned that they do not have the
stamina to wait in our queues. We strongly suggest these Guests consider
using a wheelchair or Electric Convenience Vehicle, as the distance
between our attractions is much greater than the length of our queues.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write. We hope you will have the
opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND? Resort soon and trust your visit
will be pleasant in all regards.
