Exclamation A note about replying in this thread

Disneyland Resort does not directly sponsor this event. It is completely arranged by Gay Days Anaheim.

This information has been provided so that people planning a trip to Disneyland Resort can plan to attend or aviod attending this event.

This thread is only for discussion of the event itself. Posts about whether Disney should allow the event, or commnts about the kind of people who participate, etc. will be considered off topic and dealt with appropriately by the Visions Fantastic staff.

We were planning sometime in October too. Maybe we'll go a few weeks after this...

I've been to Disneyland on Gay Days (inadvertently)... it was... an interesting experience. That is all.

(If you plan to go on this day and do not want to be affiliated with the event, you may not want to wear red... that was the color that year that they associated with. I don't know if it's changed from then though.)

I have a trip planned for the weekend after the Gay Days. I frankly could care less if it was Gay Day, Bat Day, or any other day. Disneyland is Disneyland no matter who is there.

I've worked a Gay Days weekend at the Resort before. Talk about busy, compare the Gay Days weekend to the weekend after, and you might be able to save yourself a few hours worth of wait time on Eastside alone!

In all honesty, there wasn't really much fuss the time I happened to be there at the same point; just lots of red shirts and really busy. If you don't mind busy, it's really not a big deal.

it's always on my birthday weekend.....

It can't be worse than "Rave Day" crowd wise. My hubby and I went a few months ago and there were SO many people and they were all wearing black and hello kitty things and their florescent bracelets and beads and doing the dance things with their arms. My son was fascinated with them! It was PACKED!

Question More crowded?

Does the Gay Days event make the parks very crowded? I just don't want to go when there is a huge event there... it's already crowded enough on a regular day, let alone when there's going to be any scheduled event.

For example, I wouldn't be caught dead there on a movie premiere day, lol!

Anybody have any attendance records in regards to past Gay Days events? I know that there are some personal accounts already in the thread, but if anyone has actual numbers, it would be interesting to know.

Thanks.

I was there last year.
I would say it was a little busy, but not too bad.
And I am rather excited to be going again this year at the same time.
Although I am not gay, I find it just fasinating that they all have enough courage to come out (in bright red shirts that say "GAY DAYS" even) with their special person.
And I know Disney doesn't "sponser" the event, but it just warms my heart that they allow it.

I'm looking forward to striking up a conversation in line with these men....or women....or a cross of the two. :)
