Lightbulb Fantasmic Seating

It took me awhile to figure out a good spot for this show. Don't think that the best seating is right by the control panel, its in fact off to the side a bit. Look to the ground right by Rivers of America and if you should find some metal doors in an awkward place, this is where the controls for the show are at (it rises from the ground). From that spot facing the island, move a bit to the left and you should find a light post right at the edge of the river for front row seats, sit a little to the left of that and you'll see everything and it'll seem that they are perfoming for you since they will be facing you direction. And one other thing, I suggest to get there an hour ahead of time to assure your front row seats. Grab your hot chocolate as well ahead of time, lol . And for those of you who have cash to burn, I really suggest the dessert buffet at the Disney Gallery, get your reservations ahead of time and it'll also run you about the same price of admission to get in the park, but hey, what ever floats your boat.
I hope this information has been helpful in planning your day at D-land.

Personaly i don't like to wait in a spot forever, so instead i always sit in the far left side of the river (between the rafts and the smokers landing). You can usually walk up to it like 5 minutes before and still be in the front. You have a water screen right in front of you and you can sneek out at the last minute to run over to the castle for the fireworks.

Isn't there a place at Disneyland that you can pay to get a good spot. It's not at the front of the Rivers of America but it is at a good spot. I hear about it everytime I call Disney Dining. I think it might be at a restaurant otherwise it wouldnt be mentioned on the Disney Dining line

Just a note from a tech point of view. The controls for the show are actually above the Disney Gallery, look for 3 windows on the upper right side as you look at the gallery/pirates that are greyed out during the day, but about the time of the show you can see into them and the room will have a blue tint to it.
The followspotters run from the towers (Tower 1 and 3 have one, and tower 2 has 2), and the Stage Manager + tower controller (who raises it and lowers them before, during, and after the show) are under Control Tower 2.

Also we found the best place to sit is to the left of the tower (2) and at the front right next to where they put the walkway, you get a great view and it's good for the video camera :)

We looked into that while we were there, there are two places. the Gallery dining or the preferred seating. Both of which have an OK view, but the seating one has a light pole right in the way of the main stage on Tom Sawyers Island, so it's not really a great place to be, although you do get a dessert.

Don't know much about the dining one, except it's up at the gallery so theoretically it's great views.
Hope that helps
