Default Disneyland on News Years Day

Has anyone been to the park on January 1st? Thinking about taking my daughter there, it's here birthday and I was wondering if the crowds are heavy?
Thanks,
Brian

I would say probably since that could be last vacation day for people... Then yet, I don't really know.

I think Jan 1st would be a GREAT day to be at DL -- new year, a fresh start, begining everything at the Happiest Place On earth...What could be better?

I did go there once. The rain kicked in around 4 PM and people just started to leave around 7 PM. Christmas Fantasy Parade was cancelled, Fantasmic! was cancelled and RDCT was cancelled. It made the night longer though. Short lines everywhere. It kept raining around closing.

Deffinately busy. I have never been there but I hear that Disney steps up the police around the park. If you plan on going on New Years Eve and you want to stay until midnight, I would advise against it. Everyone crowds around the hub trying to get on TV for Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years. I am not sure about the lines however. I would think if everyone crowds around in the hub and Main Street, I would think that the lines should be short. That is except the lines for food on Main Street. I'm sure people will be wanting their hot cocoa. And of course, people wanting their hot churros in the hub.

Disneyland is open until 2am on New Year's Eve, then promptly opens again at 9am on 1/1/07. It's a good bet that a very small portion of that crowd there at 2am will also be there at 9am. I'd expect moderate to heavy crowds, but nothing all that nuts.
