Smile Disneyland and babies?

Hi all, I was wondering, I am taking my son to Disneyland when he will be 8 months old, 10 months old, and again for when he turns a year old. I realize that he can't ride the big rides, and I went to the official disneyland web site to find all of the height requirements but I was wondering what the age requirements were for those rides. It only mentioned the bid rides, so I was also wondering if there were any height requirements for the dark rides like peter pan and POTC? I realize that at 9 or 10 months old he might not be able to ride anything, but I want him to have the experience:) any help and suggestions would be great, thank you!:)

umm, im not sure if there is an age requirement. As long as you meet the height requirement you should be good... but i could be wrong. :\

There are no height requirements for anything in Fantasyland except the Matterhorn and also none for POTC and Haunted Mansion. On King Arthur's Carousel, he is obviously too small to ride alone, so you will have to be with him and hold on to him during that ride. As for age requirements, it used to be age 3 minimum to ride the Matterhorn, but that might have changed. The other dark rides I don't think there are any.

Oh how fun! Yeah he will have a good time on the Fantasyland rides. My neice loved them! Try and hit the Winnie the Pooh ride by Splash Mountain. He will LOVE that one too!

We just got back a couple days ago and we took our 23 month old on the Matterhorn, I think as long as they are 35 inches they are fine to go. She rode the whole way with her arms up. She puts her arms up for the POTC drops too and for Gadget's go coaster. I was so proud!

We've taken babies older and younger than 8 months, as long as they meet the height requirement for the ride they can ride with you, with the exception of autopia. They have to be a year old to ride that one.

they do lap sit on all the dark rides. I woulnd't take a child that young on anything like Matterhorn. Just cause it's so stinking jerky and you never know. Too young. We started taking my son at 10 months and he would sit in our lap for everything. He LOVED Dumbo and the carosel and Peter Pan. He didn't mind HM cause he didn't know to be afraid and he was fascinated with POTC. It was a really fun trip. Even after we rode the DRR about 20 times! (he loves trains)

I'm so excited for you! We just got back from Disneyland in May and we took our (then) 6-month-old. Disneyland is so amazingly fun for anyone because even the babies can ride on 80% of the rides. We took him on Pirates (he loved it), on Peter Pan (he loved it), the Haunted Mansion (he loved it), etc., etc. The only rides in Disneyland Park that he couldn't go on (if I remember correctly) were Space Mountain, Autopia, Star Tours, Matterhorn, Gadgets Go-Coaster, Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mt., and Splash Mountain. Other than that, we took him on everything. You'll LOVE IT!

Oh yeah, I remember on some rides he could lap ride (Pirates, Haunted Mansion) but on others they made us put him next to us (Roger Rabbit's, Alice in Wonderland). It just depends on the ride, and possibly on whoever is working at that time???

My son always sat in my lap. Of course, I think I look like the kind of mom that if you said "you have to put your child down" I would have jumped down their throat. He even sat on my lap in Alice so I agree it's probably just the person working it.
When you take him on BTMRR for the first time, HOLD ON TIGHT. My friend took her son when he was about a year and a half and was panicked the whole time cause he was sliding under the bar. We always make sure he is in between two adults, and we cross our legs in front of him to keep him in tight.
You are going to have SO much fun!

^ haha which part can you picture? :)
I'm one of those people that if I'm not concentrating on smiling or looking happy, then I look kinda pissed off. People just tend to leave me alone. Once they get to know me they know I'm not really that way haha.

The part where her son was slipping under the bar on BTMR. I'm laughing just picturing it. Its funny, I guess, because this past May, when I went with my family to DLR, we were in California Adventure in the Sour Dough Bread demo. We were watching the presentation by Rosie O'Donnel and I looked down and my 6-month-old was slipping out of his stroller. He ended up underneath the tray, and his body was like bent over the part where his feet goes! He wasn't hurt. He was just laying there in that position when I looked down. Your story of the boy sliding underneath the bar on BTMR reminded me of that! Hilarious!

Babies at Disneyland. The joy of it all.

Then again, some of them are cute.
