Question Dec 27-30th at Disneyland?

I usually go to DL in Oct/Feb/Mar. Because I work for UPS I do not get to go During the Christmas Season. I'm going to San Diego for family this year and my wife says she will go if its not too busy.. I know it will be busy Dec 27-30th. But does anyone know just how bad. And do they think the economy might slow things down a bit. I want to go but I have 3 little boys so its not that easy to just say oh well its crowded. Thanks in advance for your replies.

I have read that week is the busiest of the year, but you are skipping Christmas Day and New Year's Eve and those are the busiest days, especially New Year's Eve. It's possible that any one of those days DL could reach maximum capacity and then they don't allow anyone else in, so the standard advise about getting into the park at opening applies even more so at this time. Park hopping is a little iffy, but you can check with a CM before you leave DL to go into DCA if you want to find out about the possible restrictions on returning. If you plan to stay at a hotel, going back for lunch or a rest would not be advisable. If you are staying with family in SD and driving up for one day, just do DL and be prepared to have fun while standing in lines (take joke books or short Christmas stories to read, etc.) and use the fast pass system. I think it would be awesome for the kids to experience DL during Christmastime, and you obviously are feeling the desire to do something that you never get to do. I would go for it. If your wife is not up for the crowds, maybe you can take another adult family member from SD, or try to handle the 3 boys yourself.

On the economy....I noticed that it wasn't as crowded in July when I went, as a usual July. I think with Christmas you never know, though. Some people may go instead of buying gifts! My own personal opinion is that the economy worries will be less at that time, due to an optomistic attitude about a new president in January. People might use credit cards with the idea that things will get better.

If you want an additional fun thing to do, Knott's Berry Farm may still have their Snoopy Ice Show going on at that time. I'm pretty sure it was extended past Christmas last year. Unfortunately, all the rest of their Christmas shows end on December 24th, I believe. Their attendance numbers drop that week, so it should not be crowded.

Have fun in San Diego. I've read that the lights in Balboa Park are beautiful. If you don't go to DL, maybe you can go to the SD Zoo and Balboa Park (with some other family members too).

I'm going during that time as well... I usually go right before Christmas, and it's pretty busy then.

I was wondering... do you (anyone) think that it'll be more busy on Saturday, the 27th or Monday, the 29th? Those are my options of days, and though I'm not going to avoid crowds, it'd be nice to fit in a few more rides/avoid a little bit of hassle.

Thanks. :D

It'll be pretty busy from now until the start of the new year. All the kids are out of school, everyone's on vacation, so expect crowds. But have a wonderful time, anyway!
