Default a second for Howard Johnson

We just returned from a trip last week ( Feb 18 - 22). Had an excellent stay at the Howard Johnson's. Its about a 5-8 min walk to Disneyland. Also Mimi's Cafe and McDonald's is right on the way. It was convient to grab breakfast and/or dinner when you were leaving or returning to the hotel. There was also a restaurant called Millies but we never ate there so we can't vouch for that.

Thumbs down Great site...

www.hotels.com is where I booked my last trip. SUPER cheap, and easy to book a trip there with just a few clicks. Picks your flight, and every hotel listed in the Anaheim area is listed with a clearly posted distance from the park. Saved a bundle, got a hotel right across the street from the park. My dad and I went there (I flew in from Portland, OR, and dad flew in from ABQ, NM) for 5 nights with 4-day parkhopper passes for around $499 each!!! Yes, this included the airfare!

Sweet!

Hans

Hans, are you serious?? That is an incredible deal! We live in the Seattle area, not far from you, so I bet the rates would be pretty much the same. Thanks for the post!

Talking No problem! Here's my estimate...

Glad to help. However, I did go in October... that's why it was so cheap for me. If you are planning on going in the summer, it will be more expensive by about 100 dollars or so. I just checked how much it would cost for 2 people to go on June 22 after Pirates opens back up, and it was $612.00 per person for 4 nights' hotel, airfare and 3-day parkhopper passes. The hotel is directly across the street from the Disneyland resort. And don't forget, the more people you take, the cheaper it gets per person for the airfare and hotel!!! What a great deal!

Another tip for that site... pick your travel dates, and be dead set on them. Then, check hotels.com a couple of times a day for a few days, and watch what happens. Prices on trips can fluctuate up to 50 dollars per person in a 15-minute period! As the other trips are sold, and the new flight and hotel itineraries are given to the site, they CONSTANTLY update. Do not settle for the first great deal you see. You might see an even better one 30 minutes later. Take a few days, get a good idea of what the average is, and know when to strike at a REALLY good price.

So, there you go! Just remember to book your trip starting on Thursday and staying thru Sunday to get the best savings. This way, also, you get to enjoy a slightly slower night in the park on Thursday.

:)

I booked a room at Park Vue Inn in November for this September: that's right: ten months in advance and I got a rate of $62 for Thursday night and $75 for friday and Saturday but I really had to book far in advance to get it. I once called two months in advance it was already over $90 a night.

Question So, how did the booking go, Piglet?

Hey, just wanted to see what happened with your booking this trip for your family members....

Did you get a good deal? If so, what site did you get it from? I am always looking for new websites/deals to take advantage of when I book my next trip to Disneyland.

If you found any new resources, please do tell!

:)

Hans

I gave the info to my daughter but I don't think she has got online yet to book her trip. They are still saving for it and I think don't plan to go until late August or early Sept. Thank you so much for your help, Hans! I will keep you posted =)

(in his best Paul Frees voice) actually it's a 12 minute walk I timed it with my stopwatch. They also have a 50 meter swimming pool and a really nice lounge
