Ok...i'm gonna say it...I HAAAAATE THIS PROMO.
What happened to off season people?? Geez. I don't know why I end up there on Thursdays with my kid but...this past Thursday...it's a trip in the morning having 8 of 9 parking garage lanes open. Then you go to the tram and their double loading from the east and west sides. Crazy man.

Crowd Projections: (NEW FEATURE! UPDATED MONTHLY. SEE LATEST POST FOR UP TO DATE PROJECTIONS)

Week of March 1st: Monday to Wednesday recommended. Thursday-Sunday would hit L 2.5. Avg wait times would be 45 mins.

Week of March 8th: Monday to Wednesday slowly becoming more packed. Thursday-Sunday would still reach L 3.5. Avg wait time would be 50-70 mins.

Week of March 15th: Monday to Wednesday would hit L 2 while Thursday and Sunday would stay the same as March 8th weekend.

Week of March 22nd-April 11th: Expect ALL days to be packed as Spring Break starts up. Then factor in the birthdays. Sunday-Sunday would be L 2.5 minimum. Avg wait time per day would be 30 mins. Possible dead period the week after Spring Break.

I would strongly recommend visiting Monday-Wednesdays from now till April. Then from April-Labour Day would be regular summer crowds.

I do not expect crowds to die down during March to Labour Day.

I'm curious why you say that. March to Labor Day is a 6 month period--a very long time. There are going to be some slow periods in there--like from early May through the first week in June.

Early May through first week of June- Colleges and Universities start letting out and some schools as well.

There could possibly be a few slow days, but not as frequent. The reason why I'm putting up high projections is because of the Celebrate Promotion. The crowd levels have been higher than ever during the off season. I'm aware that some of my readers won't agree with my projections, but I'm just preparing you just in case there are crowds.

THIS JUST IN: Parking lots are overflowed. If you have not left the house to visit the parks, I recommend you stay at home.

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you--not at all =) I was just curious why you projected such huge crowds during what used to be a traditionally slow period at Disneyland. I wasn't even thinking about how the "free admission on your birthday" could really impact the crowds; EVERYONE is going to have a birthday this year and they're going to want to celebrate it free at Disneyland if they can =) BCC, thank you for doing these crowd projections! I think it is awesome help for anyone who is planning a trip to Disneyland =)

My pleasure to put up the projections! One of the new things I will attempt to do monthly! Please let me know how else I can improve!

I wasn't implying that you were disagreeing with me :) I am guessing some other people out there would probably disagree with me.

I hate the promotion. I'm getting tired of it all. The mere fact that just anyone can go in free makes me sick. Seriously, it's as if Disney really doesn't care who goes in as long as they make $$$. I am most certainly not happy and I just know that they'll extend it to next year. I understand that money is important but come on. I wish Walt could see the park today. I'm sure he would have a few things to say...

Thanks so much BCC for these updates. It's nice to be able to take the crowd-blow early instead of being blown out of the water when you get there!

So, care to make a prediction? April 12 (Easter Sunday) to April 17th (Friday)? How would Easter affect crowds? Thanks for any help BCC

Easter would bump up crowds to a L 3 at the very least. Average wait time would be around 45 mins for the big rides. The fastest you would encounter would be 20 mins.

April 17th: I'm predicting average waits would be around 20 mins in the morning, 45 at night.

We just got back from 3 days at Disneyland. Monday 3-2 until this morning. The only thing super crowded were the ticket lines. People were waiting over an hour just to buy a ticket and that was until mid afternoon. Fortunately we have AP's. The longest wait I saw was 35 minutes for Indiana Jones. We just got fast passes and moved on. Screamin was a 5-15 minute wait. Toy Story Mania said 30 minute wait yesterday but we only waited 20 minutes. This morning we waited less than 10 minutes. Space Mtn was 5-10 minute wait. So was Pirates. Of course Peter Pan was 25-30 minutes most of the time. And even Small World was barely a 5 minute wait every time we went. It was awesome! I love going when it's dead like that. The only other disadvantage was that they had a skeleton crew for the people who go around sweeping things up. The streets were pretty dirty with litter and we stepped in a ton of popcorn. That was a real disappointment because one of the things I love about Disneyland is how clean it always is. And we encountered a lot more frowning cast members than we ever have. There were still a few sweet ones but more frowns than smiles. Still, it's Disneyland and we had a blast!
