Any Campsites near DL?

Thinking of visiting DL this May and was wondering if there any campsites near DL.

Depends what you mean by "Near". There are a few state parks with camping within easy driving distance:

Doheny State Beach , San Clemente SB, San Onofre SB

There are a couple of RV sites in Anaheim--one is called Orangeland, and I think it is only about 5 miles from Disneyland. The other is called Anaheim Junction or something like that. Not sure if they allow tent camping at either place, though. Check to see if they have websites for more information. There used to be 2 really nice campgrounds right across the street from Disneyland back in the mid 90's: KOA Anaheim and Disneyland's Vacationland Campground. We camped at both of them and loved it. They were both so nice and we especially loved the Vacationland because Chip n Dale came over sometimes and by being registered campers there, we could use all the amenities of the Disneyland Hotel--including the pools =) The good ole days, huh?

I would be sleeping in a tent or in the back of my truck.

I don't know of any close to Disneyland that are not geared for RV's or Campers. Since you mentioned the back of your truck I don't know if you have a campershell if that would be close enough? How much would it cost to rent a tent trailer for the trip I have read that Orangeland campground will alow Tent trailers http://www.orangeland.com/ I would call first.

Go to San Onofry. Its by the beach and there are SHARKS there!
