Default Annual Pass question

In a couple months I will be visiting Disney World for about a week, and in January I will be visiting Disneyland for a long weekend. I think the answer is probably no (you can probably already see where I'm going with this, ) but is there an option I can choose when I buy an annual pass at WDW to be able to visit Disneyland? Or can a Disney World Annual Pass get me a discount at Disneyland? I actually don't think there are that many people lucky enough to have to ask this question , so Disney probably deems it unnecissary, but I figured it's worth a shot, seeing as how all the other theme park chains have an option for this.

Did you mean a world annual pass for all the Disney theme parks or just the WDW and DL parks.

I don't think a WDW AP will discount the park tickets price. But you can try.

I think the question is, "If I buy an annual pass for Walt Disney World, will that ALSO gain me free or reduced admission to Disneyland for the year?"

the ansers is no. each park (DLR & WDW) have there own separate AP programs, having one doesn't help you at the other.

^ If they did, they'd have to put up Six Flags logos all over the place.

the main reason they don't match up the parks is a small thing called
"3,000 miles between them"

if they were say an hour or 2 apart,
you might have a need to tie them into each other.

Wouldn't they have to bump the price up quite a bit as well? It costs over $500 for a Premium WDW AP, and it's about $350 for a Premium DLR AP. Seems like that would make the price go up to over $800 at either resort.

They could make a World Passport AP for those lucky few that are able to go to either resort as they please, and maybe visit some of the international resorts as well. And then a tier below that would be the $800+ DLR/WDW AP. And below that, would be the normal resort exclusive APs.

Thanks guys, yeah that's what I assumed. I do realize that disney doesn't want to give away admission (who does), but I always felt that the reason why Cedar Fair, Paramount, Busch Gardens/Sea World, and Six Flags do this is because they want to make extra money. Basically consider this:
Some guy in living in Deleware really likes Six Flags Great Adventure (the one in NJ), so he buys a Season Pass. One day he figures that he's a little tired of the place, and remembers "Hey there's another Six Flags in Maryland, it will take about the same amount of time to drive there, so why don't i go check it out" and he pays the $10 parking fee, buys like $20 worth of food/drink, plays a few midway games and buys a T-shirt. Six Flags made a good deal of money on that one. I really don't think Six Flags does this out of the goodness of their hearts, they realize that it will make them some extra money.

But yeah, I'm not really suprised that Disney doesn't do this. Most people that are able to visit the land or the world multiple times a year probably can't visit the other. Although I will say that I think that would be a good incentive for the California Resident passes and Florida Resident passes. You know, offer the Florida Residents to "see the original". But when all is said and done, after the airfare, lodging, food, souviners, and other travel expenses, the 3-day pass is chump change.

I understand Disney's logic behind this and as a stock holder I appreciate them trying to squeeze every little penny out of people that they can.

But...if my DL AP would give me admission into DW, or a significant discount on DW tickets, etc (or vice versa)...., I would be inclined to go there this year. Because they don't do this, I can say with certainty that I will not be visiting DW anytime in the next couple years.

I had initially made plans to visit both parks this year, and Disneyland Paris early next year, but if I am going to purchase an AP at DL, my savings will be much greater by returning to Disneyland a few times instead of going to DW. In the end, Disney gets my money, but they could have taken more of it if there were some type of benefit/bonus for me to go to DW with my DL AP.

That's my $0.02....not that it matters.

A side note on the topics of APs:

Premium AP to WDW (for FL residents): $429
Premium AP to DLR (no CA resident discount offered): $349

...FL residents get all of WDW, all the same discounts, all the free parking, all the everything we get with a Premium AP at DLR, but for WDW, for a mere $80 more. That is just wrong.

What's more, if I lived in FL, I could buy a WDW Premium for $429 & a DLR Premium for $349. But since I live in CA, I get my DLR Premium for $349, and I'd have to buy a WDW Premium for $539! Now I'm fairly savvy in math, so I calculated the percentage discount FL residents get for their Premium & took the same % off a $349 DLR Premium AP. A similar "CA Resident" discounted Premium would cost $278! That's a discount of $71! I would like a Premium for $278, and I bet you Deluxe'ers out there would as well. Will I get that $71 back? HA!

Neither resort will grant you entry into the other one via purchase of their pass, but we're gettin' screwed here folks. WDW Premium for $80 more? $71 discount for a Premium here just by receiving the same discount FL residents receive? That's for all FL residents btw, from Pensacola to Key West. Not only do we get no break into WDW for being DLR AP's, we're given this deal.

Does it make us stupid for buying DLR Premium AP's? Not at all, I've gone over & over & over the insane benefits of being Premium APs, even with the $349 cost. But just imagine having the same situation into WDW for a scant $80 more. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

In terms of sheer numbers, that is very pitiful. Although money aside, I personally see more value in having a DLR AP (although a DLR/Epcot AP would be perfect for me )

I wonder if it's just a situation where they charge that much, because they know people will pay for it.

Hey matt, regaurding your little price comparison, consider this:
That guy living in Deleware should buy his season pass at the Six Flags in MD, even if he only intends on going to the one in NJ, because MD's are $50, and NJ's are some where between $80 and $90. Theme parks are funny that way.
