Default Anniversary Trip

Hey Everyone! We're going to DL for our 5 year anniversary (which also happens to be the day before the VFSH III, so yes, we'll be at that too.)

Anywho.... I'm looking to do something extra special this trip. It's just my hubby and I. The grandparents are keeping our son and will take him to the park on a later date. I'm looking for any romantic evening ideas for the 12th? We go to the Blue Bayou everytime we go so I'm looking for something a little different this time. The dream suite would be the most awesome thing ever, but since that's probably not going to happen, we're looking for suggestions. My 2nd choice would be Club 33, but again, I have no contacts for that either. I've been at least 100 times and this will be about 30 for the hubby so I'm looking for good personal experiences that you want to share with me.

Thanks everyone!

Wow...I'm trying so hard to think of something really great for you. My husband and I were there for our 13th Anniversary, and we ate at the Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. There was a wonderful piano player there and my husband asked the waitress if she could ask the piano player to dedicate a certain song for me. I had no idea he had done this, and so when the guy started playing and singing our favorite song..it was very special. He announced to everyone it was our anniversary, and we received a wonderful desert complimentary of the restaraunt.

I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip!

oh that does sound awesome! It should be really fun! We haven't been to DL without the munchkin for 4 years now so it will be good to have some time to ourselves. We've never been to the Jazz kitchen so something to think about. I think it would be cool to have a little picnic during the fireworks, but it looks like there won't be fireworks in Sept Thanks for the idea!

What about dinner at Napa Rose? I've never been there but I've heard it's excellent and has a more adult, sophisticated atmosphere than any of the other restaurants in the DLR area. Of course, it's probably a lot more expensive, and you'll probably have to make reservations way in advance? Just a suggestion; hope you have an amazing time!

I highly recommend the vintner's table and wine flight at Napa Rose. My husband and I did it on our honeymoon and it still might have been our favorite Disney thing from the whole week. He can't wait to go back again. :)

well we don't drink, so sans wine, would it still be awesome? Since we always take a child and I didn't take anyone romantic with me before that, I know that there are these little places I'm missing out on! Thanks for the suggestsion Rachele! I'll check it out!

Ok so I got reservations for the Vinyard Room in DCA. They asked me inside or out, but I have no idea since I haven't been there... can you see the park from above on the outside? (I know you can inside cause I saw the pics online). I hear the food is yummy and being able to see the pier at night from above will be awesome. If I get Club 33 somehow, I'll just move this one to another trip hehe. Anyone ever been to TVR to eat?

Happy early anniversary! My husband and I are going for a belated anniversary trip in November, and are going for the first time without child too! When you get back, could you post what you thought of TVR? We don't drink either, so I was wondering how it would be. :) One thing that might be fun that I saw was the Fantasmic dessert buffet. It's a little pricey ($59/person), but it would be something different and tasty!

We went to Disneyland for our anniversary in June and had dinner at the Blue Bayou. I've only dined at the Blue Bayou once, so this was a splurge for us. It was a very special evening--especially since we got a table right on the edge where the boats go by. We spent 2 hours there and it was awesome! Don't forget to go to City Hall and get your Happy Anniversary buttons. We had a lot of fun wearing those for the rest of the night. Have a wonderful anniversary!

I will totally have to get the buttons! I've never had a special button before! We went on our honeymoon for one day after we got back from our cruise and we wore bride and groom shirts. I was surprised that not 1 cast memeber even said Congrats
Anyway, Harasttam, I will let you know how it goes. I think the Fantasmic viewing would be SO great, but I don't think it's playing when we are there is it? Does it run all year? I can't remember. It's actually been FOREVER since I've seen it! That would be romantic!

ok, I am totally bummed! Last night I got a call from DLR telling us that they would have to move our reservation to another restaurant cause the Vineyard Room is closing it's doors permanently in the middle of August! They asked if we could come earlier, but alas, we can't. How sad! I find this rare treasure and they are getting rid of it! At least that means that they are moving forward with the park updates though I guess.
I'll have to check out the one in the Grand Californian now.
