Default 1st trip to Disneyland!

Hello VF! I am so excited to announce I am FINALLY going to get to visit the Disneyland parks and resorts! January 5-9, 2007. I will be in Las Vegas for a trade show (for work) the Jan 3-5 and "when in Rome" my best friend and I decided we should rent a car and drive to Disneyland. I have not travelled to the west coast ever before not to mention Disneyland so if anyone has any tips, and hopefully some Disneyland tips(!!!) please share.

Get there before the parks open. If you plan on getting a locker go there first thing in the morning. Try using some of the Fast Passes they are helpful at times.

Stay at either a Disney hotel, or one walking distance from the parks. That way, you won't have to deal with traffic and parking. See the most popular (read: crowded) attractions 1st thing in the morning, or in the evening. Have fun!!

...but NOT the EconoLodge on Katella. Check the Anaheim Hotels: write your review thread before you book.

WOW! I hope you have a blast. As for traffic, it is crazy and the best advice is have snacks and alot of patience. Wear comfy shoes and layer clothing. I would decide the things you really want to do , hit those first. Then the rest is gravy ( so to speak )4 days should be ample time to do most everything. Some swear by fastpass. And of course this is the best resource for tip and tricks. Enjoy!

If it happens to rain, don't let that scare you away from the park! The crowds will be light and you'll walk on to every ride! You can buy a poncho at the park for $6.00 and just keep going!

Thanks for all the great tips! I am so excited to go! I think we are going to stay at the Grand Californian Hotel and like you said do all of the MUST DO's when we first arrive.

Early mornings are the best time to hit the E-Ticket attractions as the crowds are still very thin early in the day. Don't forget to hit the Tiki Juice bar for a world famous Dole Whip .

Have a great trip!!!

Good Choice...I always stay at the GCH, and I love it! Having the direct entrances to DCA and Downtown Disney are terriffic. Also, be sure to have breakfast at least one morning at the Storytellers Cafe -- yummy food, and a lot of fun!
