I put it in the shoutbox but this is fine. This is a tragedy in every sense of the word, however, there's a reason why multiple warning signs are posted.

What I really hate is quotes like this:

Does that really need to be in bold at the very top? Do they think that riders didn't know what the ride was before riding? In M:S's pre-show, the word 'intense' is used to describe it 4 or 5 times. This kind of misleading headliner journalism really just sucks. Ugh.

I read that same quote and it bothered me too. They have motion sickness bags on airplanes too but when somebody dies on a plane they don't mention that in bold letters. I don't know if the comparisons really go together but that is all that comes to mind.

It's a form of sensationalism in journalism that is used to catch your eye and SELL PAPERS! I abhor this type of journalism--it is so mislkeading and unfair. Now watch, all network news will start having stories about the safety of Disney rides. Here we go again, folks =(

^ Exactly! This is completely tragic and sad. It seems like people like to critisize DLR parks safety and make a big deal because (and this is just my opinion) DL is considered to be such a "safe" and "tame" family oriented park that when something like this happens it sorta gets blown outta proportion. Not to say that a woman dying isn't a big deal because it certainly is and it's very tragic but just our media now a days is kinda out of control. I mean you take a risk when you go on ANY amusement park ride. That's why all those signs are posted. I would never want to go on Mission Space ever. Not because of the sad events that may or may not be related to it but because I myself know my limits and I just know I couldn't handle it. Wow, so yet another tradgedy at MK. This is very sad...

This will be headline news, and by the time they find out it was some other perfectly natural cause the story's cold so it gets buried.

It really matters little because it'll be same discussion over & over again. If you really fear a theme park ride, look up the accident report on the freeway you drove to the park on & compare them. To be scared of one & not the other is ridiculous to me. But, CNN and others will continue to present their death trap angle as they always will. I hope we don't take anything away from the fact that someone has died, irregardless of the condition, and everyone involved has perfect right to do their mourning and whatever else. Blame, though, is something that needs to be handled delicately.

Hopefully we can keep our heads on straight & remember that warning signs are posted for a reason, testing is done for a reason, millions ride each year without incident & have a great time, and to NOT ride these things if we're one of those the warning signs tell not to ride! I've ridden Mission: Space many times, I rode six times in a row once. The thing pulls G's, it's meant to, it's designed to. That's probably the greatest thing about it is the feeling of G's during a simulated spaceflight. There's nothing wrong with it, there's no reason to tone it down.

If G's cause you discomfort, don't ride it without knowing what you're getting yourself into. Mission: Space has a reputation, it calls itself 'intense' 5 times before you get on it, they give anyone all the chance that's needed or wanted to exit before the riders get on. The only reason that anyone'd would ride it and have reason to complain is that they chose to ride it in defiance of all warning signs, audible warnings, and everything else. That is not Disney's fault, nor should the other millions of riders have to lessen their experiences because of the choice that particular rider made.

I really hope no adjustment is made to Mission: Space because of this. As we've seen with Screamin' and countless others needlessly forced to change because of the paranoia of the ignorant, it can happen & we don't want to see it again.

Unhappy motion sickness

I do resent the fact that they make so much out of the motion sickness bags. They're a courtesy for the guests. Frankly, I think they should have barf bags on the teacups!

The barf bags must be new Because when i went four months after the ride opened all they had was a box that tilted open for u to put ur stuff in.

i liked that ride. they really need i survied shirts there, and ive them out free to those who do. at this rate of deaths out of a million shirts people may get two, or three.... wow listen to me i love the ride and still make fun of it. srry horrible of me

and you know what it is pretty hard not to realize how intense this ride is, they say the warning speil like every 15 seconds and written on every wall, if you know that you can handle the ride and still go on it then they are just stupid, their falt, not Disney's.
