Default What was your Halloween costume?

Hey VF now that Halloween is over I'm sure most of you went in costume so what did it look like? Pictures are nice but don't post them if you don't have a parents permission or if you feel uncomfortable. Here's a couple of mine. I was a saloon girl (I'm in the black and red).

I went as a pirate. I had on a short purple velvet dress, complete with pirate ruffles, belt, hat, sword & boots. Which worked, my fiancee went as Jack Sparrow, he looked like an actual pirate. Hmmm...now if I could find an Elizabeth Swann costume for next year I think I'll be set!

I went as the "too lazy to change out of pajamas on a day when I don't work" girl. With Pluto slippers.

Things become considerably cheaper if you teach yourself to sew. *speaking from experience* I made a pirate Elizabeth Swann costume this summer (here's a pic of it from ComicCon in July, with an awesome Jack Sparrow - alas, I have no good pics that show the pants and boots), and it ran me maybe $50-60 for fabric and a few days of my time.

That's a fantastic costume! I don't think even Disney could have done a better job!

^ Lol well that's true. I was thinking of the dress she wears at the beginning of PoTC:CoBP lol. That's my dream costume and I can't sew to save my life. (Well I probably could but I don't have a sewing machine )

Well, I could barely sew a year ago, either - it's amazing what you can teach yourself when you put your mind to it! A friend of a friend did Elizabeth's red/wine-colored dress from CotBP, and it looked FANTASTIC. It's very possible!

(although I'll be the first to admit that cosplay gets very expensive if you make a lot of costumes!)

^^ I totally agree! I spent over $200 for my Washuu (Tenchi Muyo!) costume, but it was well worth it. I had the most awesome wig and accurate costume. I even won an award for it at Ani-Magic!

xfkirsten - great costume! Wish I could've gone to ComicCon this year but ehh...I'll try again next year (assuming I can afford my costumes, hotel room AND admission!)

And thanks everyone for your nice comments! I actually used the Lilo atmosphere character's dress as a reference when making mine, since we're the same size. I'm glad it came out so good!

Erza is the famous hitchhiking ghost from Walt Disney's The Haunted Mansion attraction. He is seen wearing a hat, a suit with a tuxedo, his appearance is skeletal and ghostly. He is usually hangs out with his two friends, Gus and Philladeph (blah) near the end of the ride.

Go ride the Haunted Mansion. It is a must-see.

Me too, but sweats instead of jammies. And Minnie Mouse socks.

A good friend of mine does that, too (sana_chan? Apparently she's a fairly big name in cosplay, but I don't follow the online stuff much since I'm not an anime person)... when you're going for accurate costumes, it can get very expensive! I spent probably $100+ on my Sorcerer Mickey robe last year, and I'm still not entirely happy with it.

I went as Obi Wan Kenobi from Star Wars Episode 3. As soon as Halloween ended I shaved my beard.
