However, I will say that since I've started reading Eclipse, I haven't noticed this as much (actually, I haven't noticed it at all). It's by far my favorite [so far].

Haha ya, I know. I was reading part of New Moon yesterday and I totally noticed it! Oh and Eclipse is my favorite next to Twilight. Not so much New Moon. Just because of the events that happen. OH! So I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday and I read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn!!! They re-released that book with the first chapter of BD, its so good. I wanna read it again and again!

My Eclipse book has that chapter in the back. I'm afraid to read it, though, in case it makes me REALLY want to read BD and I can't yet! Haha.

I don't think anything could make me want to read BD more than I already do. So reading the first chapter wasn't too bad. Thank goodness it didn't have any of Stephenie Meyer's killer cliff-hangers at the end. I would have DIED!

Once again, I have yet to read these books, but my friend, who is obsessed with these books described them to me. Edward has to be the best character in a book ever (sorry Harry)

I love these books more than Harry Potter. They just have characters that you become so attached to because it feels like they are real people. Its crazy and not to mention that Stephenie Meyer has created literally every females idea of the perfect man.

It's funny, because my favorite characters in a book or movie are rarely the "main" characters. Like, I think Bella's okay, but I really love Alice and Angela. If I could be any character, I'd want to be one of them, lol.

I love Alice. Her personality is so fun and loveable. On Stephenie Meyer's website she has a chapter from Twilight where her and Bella shop for prom stuff and it really shows who Alice is. I loved it.
Also I'm going to say something many Twilight lovers may yell at me for. I love Jacob. I think he is so sweet. And he is the reason Bella survived a life without Edward in New Moon. I love how he made her feel. People get mad at him thinking he is trying to steal her from Edward, but we all know that she will never leave Edward for anything. I feel bad for him for being in love with a girl who has already found her soul mate and its not him. Does anyone think that he imprinted on Bella? And Edward's protectiveness would bug me if I was Bella. But I agree that it is nessicary. Otherwise Bella would've been dead within the first few chapters of Twilight.

Yeah, I feel bad for Jacob, too. It would really suck to be him; first, he finds out he's turning into a wearwolf and he can't do anything to stop that, and second, he finally confesses to Bella that he loves her, but it's too late. It's easy to tell that he really does care for her.
Still, I find him to be kind of annoying and a bit immature. Sometimes it seems like he's making things harder on Bella just because he can't have his way. But that's just how I see it. I don't hate him or anything. The other thing is, though, that if Bella were to be with him, she could lead a relatively "normal" life. She wouldn't have to go on living forever; she could stay with Charlie and Renee and be... Human. Which would be tempting, for me, because personally I think that living forever would be torture. And there would be so many lies involved if she were to become a vampire... She'd have to lie to her family, and all of her friends (besides the ones who know). It'd be tough. Of course, on the other hand, there's Edward. And the most convenient way for her to stay with him would be to change. HMMM... I don't know what I'd do!

I don't know what I'd choose either. It would be hard. But if I loved someone as much as Bella and Edward love eachother, nothing could stop me from being with them.
I do agree that Jacob handles his feelings for Bella very immaturely. If he loves her so much he should just want her to be happy. Which I think is how it started, but now its just a competition for him.

^That's so cool!!! Lucky!
(WARNING! SPOILERS FOLLOWING!!) Mike Newton is one of the guys from Forks High School that is after Bella. She doesn't like him, in fact, she kind of finds him annoying. He asks her out a few times, like to dances and stuff, but never gets the point that she is not going to leave Edward-who he absolutely hates...

After reading these posts it has become very clear to me that these are books for teenage girls with a certain affinity for fantasy. There seems to be a lot of high school drama in the series.

Yeah, there's a bit, but that's simply because the characters are in high school. But I think Stephenie wrote them so anyone could relate... My aunt read and LOVES those books, and she's not a teenage girl, lol. Although I think it would be safe to assume that they ARE more popular with females... lol. I know there are some guys who read them, too, though.

I think thats where the action comes into play. For the guys. But I also think, generally speaking, that guys would be more willing to see the movie rather than read the books.
There is drama, but its not the lame drama that you hear about in school. Its like intense and way beyond anyone at their high school can comprehend. There is danger to it and there is more behind it than the normal 'he said, she said' drama at a high school.
