out with a whisper
I think the 50th came in with a bang and will go out in a whisper. I think they'll just quietly make the change. They're actually decorating Disneyland for halloween this year, for the first time in years according to page 3 of this Al Lutz article on MiceAge: 4/18: Al Lutz It'll be a good opportunity to quietly transition away from the 50th special events to holidays, without any big to-do.

I think the auroa of the 50th is pretty much over for the most part. We all had our collective shots in the arm looking back on past history, enjoying all the golden-ized stuff, getting to know the new shows & all. Now it's been a year, and for some of us that means we've been there to see it 50 times or more. I don't know if we're getting numb to it or what, but, the fact that it's leaving soon seems more like a good thing whose time has come rather than a we hardly knew ye one.
