Tales from Avonlea on Disney Channel. I was totally in love with that show!

My favorite TV from the 80's was the Disney Channel because back then they played stuff produced by Walt Disney. I lived for Mouseterpiece Theater! That is where I first saw most of the classic Disney cartoons. I had VHS tapes full of them.

As far as pogs go, I seem to remember Disneyland selling pogs. Wasn't there pog trading there like the pin trading of today?

I remember the old infomercials that ran for Beanie Babies. The host was really hyper and talked up these things like they were the best investment ever. ("The Liberty Bear has increased in value 400% in just 3 months! Don't miss out on this!!!!") Buy 10,000 Beanie Babies and you were set for life! Now I don't think they are worth beans.

How could I forget Mousterpiece Theater? That show rocked. I loved watching all the old shows and cartoons Disney had made.

I pretty much like everything you guys have been talking about. Especially PokeMon Doug, The Bulls, and Giga Pets, but there are some things I can't believe haven't been mentioned yet.

1. Goosebumps books! Come on guys, those were crazy popular
2. Yo-Yo's made a huge comeback
3. Radio Disney. I was so obsessed with that station
4. Michael Jackson was pretty much the biggest thing in the world for about 15 years
5. The Broncos won two superbowls (Ok, maybe I'm the only one excited by that)
6. Playing Goldeneye and Mario Kart 64 for hours
7. Titanic and the resulting obsession over Leonardo DiCaprio (I never understood that one)
8. Boy Meets World (which was just about the best show on tv)
9. Tupac
10. All the horror movies that were made (Chucky, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, I Know What you did Last Summer)
11. Hercules and Xena
12. Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, and Pinky and the Brain
13. Cartoon Cartoon Fridays!

I'm sure I'll think of more later, but I'm too hungry for that kind of thought, and I'm about to make myself some food.

Oh god, I was just thinking about this the other day with the return of NKOTB, I can relive being 8 all over again! Here's a few of my personal favorites that I remember.

-Cartoons (in my opinion were at their best). Smurf's, Rainbow Brite, Jem, Lady Lovelylocks, Snorks, Thundercats, Transformers, The Fluppy Dogs, Popples, Carebears, the list goes on.

-Slap bracelets. Anyone remember these? I had 6, all flourescent of course.

-T-Shirt Rings. When you couldn't tie your shirt you slipped the corner of it into one of these flashy things for that ultra 80's twist.

-Tight rolling jeans. Because you weren't cool unless you did it.

-Leg warmers/Layering socks. 2 pairs of socks on each foot, in flourescent color combo's!

-Black Patent Vinyl shoes with sheer laces.

-The black hats that gave you that "Debbie Gibson" edge.

-Lace cuff spandex shorts/leggings. In your favorite flourescent colors.

-Banana combs. The original "faux hawk".

I'm sitting here laughing as I'm typing this over all of these little things that made my childhood what it was. Ahhh a product of the 80's.
