Shoutbox/Chat Room Violations

As some of you know, we have banned some people from VF for their participation in last night's 'inappropriate' graphic posted in the VF Shoutbox.

Several people are also 'on the verge' of being banned from VF for comments they've made while in the VF Chat.

Keep in mind that VF Chat has the same rules on the boards. No profanity, no sexual content, hate speech, etc. If you are caught using this in VF Chat, there's a good chance you will be banned, either temporarily or a permanent ban, which will be decided by VF Staff.

Once your IP is banned from VF, you will no longer be able to visit, even as a guest. (You are essentially blocked from every page on VF, even if you aren't logged in).

Please don't let this happen to you. Encourage people to follow rules in the Shoutbox and Chat Room, and let them know that VF WILL take action against their accounts and IPs for breaking site guidelines.

We have been quite patient with many people up until now, but the problems are steadily growing worse and we will enforce our guidelines at all costs. Its likely if you are having a hard time following VF Site guidelines, its likely this isn't the place for you, and you should find another website to visit that is accepting of your behaviors and views. VF is the culmination of many hours of hard work from hundreds of people, and while we want everyone to have a good time, it's important that our rules be abided by.

Here are some common occurances happening in VF Chat and the Shoutbox:

1. Scrolling (posting multiple messages, lines, etc).

2. Inappropriate content (linking to copyrighted materials, adult material, etc).

3. Inappropriate topic/conversation: Sexually oriented content, hate speech, gay bashing, racist conversations, etc. Profanity, vulgarity and sexually harassing conversation will not be tolerated.

Keep in mind that all conversation in VF chat can be monitored by VF staff if we feel that conversations are breaking guidelines or are in some way disrupting the normal operation of VF.

Please do not think you can 'get away with it'. A great deal of time (and money) has been invested in the proper tools for our Site Staff to enforce our guidelines, and those breaking guidelines will lose the privilege of being able to participate on VF.
