Default question on my last photo update

I want to ask you guys a question... and I'm not looking for sympathy here, I want your input.

On another board, I was told by one of the users to "stop complaining", meaning that I wrote to many complaints in my photo update. She even took my pointing out Chicken Little releiving himself remark and the Stay-Puft man remark as complaints.

So obviously I think this person is a little off base, but I wanted to ask you guy's opinion:

Am I too negative in my photo Update narrative?

Let me be the first to say that I find your commentary funny, and reasonably critical. A lot of what you talk about and criticize on, to me, is usually just witty satire, and I enjoy it.

Sounds to me like this person needs to lighten up a tad. Your updates aren't meant to harm or irritate, just add some off-beat dry humor and liven up our weeks with pictorial updates to our favorite place in the world.

I don't think so. What I get out of your updates is the point of view of an annual pass holder who spends a lot of money at the parks for passes, souveniers, etc. and expects certain things.
While you expect these things to happen or be fixed quickly, you also have to realize (and I know you do Daddy B) that they can only do things so fast. Hopefully things are improved or whatnot, but again, the big picture is to attract lots of different people, not just satisfy Annual Pass Holders. So signage, barriers, etc. while you may think they are tacky or whatever, the regular person who can only visit once every 5 years, doesn't care!
Now, having said that....
I enjoy your updates tremendously since I was a former Cast Member (as well as a shareholder) and I look at those things myself. I don't think you are too negative....you have your point of view and if people don't like your point of view or your sense of humor (which is awesome by the way) then they don't have to look at your updates....right? Right!
I say, don't change a thing!

People I know irl always tell me I'm too negative with everything I ever say. I admit I'm sarcastic more than not, and I'm also very honest and will just as soon tell you something bad assuming we're already in agreement over the good. It's something I've been trying to get better at, with varying success, and I think we have a similar case here. You don't mean to come across as being negative towards Disneyland, nor do I like putting people down, but it's just perceived that way by some people and there's not much you can do about that. In your case, you might choose not to care because it's just 1 random person from the internet. In mine I care because these are my friends. If you want to try catching yourself on things like that, it never hurts.

That's the thing about opinions: Not everyone will agree with them! lol. Just do what you like to do DaddyB. You can't please everyone. That's just the way it is (which I am sure you know). So you can either simply add photos with no captions or a simple "This is a duck" or you can add an opinion to it. lol. To some it will be sugar, to others it might be spice. Who is to say that the person who wrote that was actually in a bad mood that day and displaced his/her feelings by complaining on that other site. Him or her might come back for the next one and laugh. Who knows? Just do what you do, which is take the most awesome Disney photos I have ever seen and have fun doing it. It's not a DaddyB update without a little bit of DaddyB! Onward and upward! You rock!

THAT'S COOL, THANKS.

I re-read my update and apart from finding numerous and varied misspellings and gramattical errors (which is in itself depressing) I just didn't see myself 'complaining' all that much. I mean, this person said I was complaining that the Anne Geddes store still wasn't open, and the way I read it (and meent it) was purely humour.

I'm going to just disregard what this person said. If they can't "get" the light-hearted sarcasm and tongue-in-cheek poking fun at my favorite destination, than they just really need to not read what I write.

Like you said, you can't make everyone happy, there's always going to be someone. This is just that "someone".

I'm going to close this thread because I'm really not looking for some positive emotional verification, I just wanted a couple quick opinions, and as it happens those people who wrote back are people whose opinions are valued.

If someone else would like to add their 2 cents, please feel free to email me, otherwise, I'm ready to let the subject drop and move on.
