At some point during the Olympic broadcasts, I heard music from Pirates of the Caribbean, Apollo 13, and Spiderman. After listening again and again to the segment I can't identify (I recorded it on my phone), I think it may also be from Apollo 13. It's driving me CRAZY!

What about that intruder guy. That was hilarious. I can't beleive the mayor just kept going. You have to have an iron witt to put up with somthing like that. Plus the wind tunnel thing was the greatest thing ive ever seen and the canada part was stupid. haha.

The vertical windtunnel part was pretty cool- I didn't know that was possible out of an enclosed area! I've seen it done in a shaft before but never out in the open like that.

What exactly was wrong with the Canada part?

I thought Avril Lavigne did a pretty good job- she's usually not too good live but she sang pretty good. I also liked the logo built out of the ice blocks. The beginning of the Canada part was a bit weird though.

Yeah. But I thought the ice breaking was awesome. Other than that I think the Italian fans were a bit confused as was I.

I personally enjoy watching the speed and figure skaters. It's amazing how talented they are.

To tell you the truth, I watched every day of the olympics. I would have it on while doing homework or studying, and my schedule works out perfectly to where I had time to watch every televised curling match! I love the winter olympics- better than the summer games in my opinion.

So the beginning was wierd? Fair enough. I thought the Indian beginning was really lame too. No one had any idea what the Chief was holding up or why he said this token is an invitation to Vancouver 2010. I live in Vancouver BC and have had to watch the Olympic Committee practically lay down for the use of Indian lands and to appease the Indian peoples of British Columbia. They have to incorporate some Native Indian tribe(s) and/or ceremony in everything they do. Even the symbol is an Eskimo custom. Since it seems like Canada is only thought of as being some remote little villages filled with Indians fishing and Eskimo dog sleds in the frozen wastelands I can hardly wait to have the cameras show the world that we are on the same West Coast as Washington St., Oregon, and California. We have the same sandy beaches, big cities, and world class entertainment as anywhere else on the planet. We have all four seasons of weather without the snowfall in the lower mainland of Vancouver. zero snow in the city, all on the ski mountains. Our summers are 2-3 months long with sunshine, beach parties and camping. We do drive cars and fly in planes and the only fishing done by the majority of British Columbians is for sport in our many fresh lakes and in the Pacific Ocean. I hope these Olympics teach everyone that Canada, and especially Vancouver, is a great Country and a world class Olympic City. Canada rocks!

You wont be saying that when the olympics come. It is a living hell. Litterally. When the olympics were in LA it was hell. I live in orange county. And it effected us.

Vancouver is definitely one of my favorite cities. It's location is just beautiful. Hopefully I'll be around in 2010 to be apart of the hubbub.

^ Mine too haha. Hope you can make it. And for those who like to par tay; the drinking age in British Columbia is 19, one beer is like drinking two USA beers (alcohol content, beware lol), a case of beer in Canada has only 12 beers (that is all you will need if you plan on getting drunk and still remember things) 24 beers is called a flat. And most importantly, for those who par tay, our night clubs in downtown Vancouver are open until 4 am so bring extra shoes and extra stamina haha.

haha good to know! I am actually considering going to the 2010 Olympics, but that's a long way off and I have a lot to think about between now and then. I want to attend the winter games sometime in my life, and now (before I have any attachment to a spouse, family, etc.) would be a good time to do it. We'll see!
