Heee... every time I watch the movie version, I have to close my eyes during "Dentist" because it creeps me out.

I got to know Little Shop, when my favorite actress at the time (Kerry Butler) moved to a new revival of it on Broadway, So, for my birthday, I saw the show in early previews and it was ok. About a year later, the show announced it was closing, and I wanted to see it one more time. And we saw it on closing, and let me tell you, if you ever have a chance to go to a closing preformance of a show on Brtoadway, it will be the most fun you will ever have!!!! Great show

When I went to New York City, our tour guide is the man who originated the Dentist.

I love the movie. I love the dentist song and that "Feed Me" song. It's awesome. The plant has style.

A thread about Little Shop of Horrors cannot exist without at least one person (and I'm guessing that's me) bringing up the ONE person who made Shop of Horrors as amazing as it is--- Ellen Greene, the original Audrey.

Such an incredible character she created... Such a beautiful woman... And her voice makes my knees weak. Without a doubt, Ellen Greene IS Audrey, all attempts have either failed in creating a "new" character, or failed by trying to mimic. She OWNS Audrey. Even actresses such as Ethel Merman couldn't say that (many of Ethel's characters have been upstaged by the incredible Patti Lupone and Angela Lansbury).

I could keep going, but I think I've made my point.

Catch Ellen Greene on Pushing Daisies. She looks just as good as she did then with LSOH, and she can sing just as fantastic (She's sang two songs on the show: Birdhouse in Your Soul and Morning Has Broken).

I LOVE YOU ELLEN GREENE!

Has anybody ever seen the original movie? Not the musical from the late 80's early 90's. I am talking old black and white. Man that movie was odd to watch. Jack Nicholson made that movie funny. He couldn't take enough pain LOL Gosh he was so young in that movie.

Why yes I have, Executioner! It's been awhile though..... And a very young Jack Nicholson!!! Isn't it famous for being made in two days? or a low budget? My mind is else where...

I do prefer the 1986 one, though !

I've seen the original. It was directed by Roger Corman and made in 1960.

It streams online for free at http://www.classiccinemaonline.com/c...ofhorrors.html

It's not a great print, but watchable.

Quite the crazy little cult movie.

1960-A little boring, but still a ton of laughs ("Hello Aunt Siddie" )

1986-Good laughs, great cast, possibly the best puppetry in any film, and tunes so brilliant they're all you'll hum to yourself.

Play-Only seen clips and heard versions of the songs. Seems good though and hope to see it. ("'Scuse the physical expression of my pride/Of the sweet paternal michigoss I've held pent up inside/Yi yi yi...)

In other words...""
