To the people that go on the ride did you like the new additions or just the Original.
I will have this poll for two weeks to get on idea of what you think of the ride which I will see when I visit in late August.

I went on it yesterday, Sunday. I am happy with some of the changes. Jack is very subtle, and there are some new effects that are pretty cool. But I feel like the story line is all messed up now.

^---- What Story Line? There never WAS a storyline to begin with like HM. It just put you in an Imerse enviornemt so you could create your own conclusions. I do LOVE the new AA's. I just dont like the Where is Jack sparrow dialogue. If they left that out and just put in like 1 jack AA (preferably the one in the barrel) That means you could of created your own conclusion as opposed to a 7 min intro then another 7 mins about Jack Sparrow.

There definitely WAS a storyline.

This was a tale of cursed treasure, that slowly reverted to the past, where the pirates raided a town, found the treasure, and ended up fighting and killing each other because of it. Hence, the fact that dead men tell no tales!

Interesting to hear your take on it, JL. Every review has been overwhelmingly positive on it. Wondered if anyone who rode it would have something different to say.

I can't wait to ride it in October and find out for myself!

^--- (I am to lazy to quote today lol) Again not everybody thinks about that. You guys (countin me) are disneyland FANATICS! And normal people arnt! Again when the GP goes throught pirates (the old one) they dont think of story lines and such. Now this fufills more of a fuller ride experiance for the everyday, "Hey Kids guess what! Were going to Disneyland!" Families. They didnt change the ride so fans of the movie will be happy or to make DL Fanatics like up happy or mad.

I found the ride ok... Most of the ride is the same. I personally do not care for the Captain Jack Sparrow AA additions to the ride. I think that by adding Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbosa and elements from the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie to the attraction it gives it a date kind of. To me the old ride was mainly timeless and was a journey to pirates.In 20 years people will not remember Captain Jack Sparrow.. Or atleast that is what I though...

But see, this is what makes Disneyland different from other theme parks! It's the storyline! People won't keep coming back for just a bunch of random scenes. And trust me, Disneyland wants people to come back! The Disney freaks are the ones who will! They want to turn more of the general public into people who will want to come back. You do this with captivating stories.

To say the general public doesn't get that there are storylines greatly underestimates them.

But I'm getting off subject. Three months and I can decide for myself!

Yeah......RIGHT!

Disney is so fond of the Jack Sparrow charector, he is a Disney ledgend now. Thats why they've been auditioning people for Jack Sparrow impersonators, 6 Jack sparrow AA's have been made nation wide (for WDW and DLR). Jack Sparrow is as big as mickey mouse was when Disneyland opened, hasnt that become evident to you guys? Jack Sparrow is HUGE now, and girls are OBSESSED WITH HIM! The whole charector is just brilliant. He is a pirate and you never know what he is going to do next. Its amazing how well the pirate crazy is going. One thing I am sad about is that they made the AA's so much like jack sparrow it takes away from the sheer brilliance of Johnny Depps charector.

I definitely want everyone to decide for themselves.

I don't want to give to much away, but there are some things that were great, but mostly upgrades that could have been done without putting the movie in the attraction.

All things aside, it was a very exciting weekend.

Er, that might have been an over statement. But he is definatly one of the most popular figures in all of disney right now. I think he is the next big human disney charectors. (Up there with the princesses). I can honestly see a longer line for people that want a line with Jack Sparrow than say Alladain or sombody else like that.
