Okay, So the day after Christmas Im taking the greyhound to Las Vegas to visit my friend. I've never done this and I've never traveled alone. I was wondering if anybody had any tips or ideas about what to do on the long drive there and what an experience on the Greyhound is like, what I should bring on the bus with me and anything else :) anything would be so appreciated!

For one thing, always watch where you put things (drinks, bags, games, ect). Do not ever leave anything behind (an easy way to make sure ya don't is to always look behind ya after ya get up).
Just be careful, don't trust anyone and use common sense. =P

From San Diego to Vegas? Probably about 5 hours. Maybe longer depending on how many stops the bus makes, if they are dropping off and picking up passengers along the way. I've taken a Greyhound from Albuquerque to Anaheim, it's very easy to get bored if you aren't equipped with some sort of entertainment. Bring along anything that might keep you from being bored. Magazines, books, a portable game system, portable DVD player, IPOD. The IPOD is a good idea because despite meeing some neat people, you'll also meet some really "odd" one's to put it gently. Some of them don't shut up and are just plain noisy. Same situation you'd get on a plane. :) Enjoy your trip!

try to take the least amount of bags for example instead of taking 3 backpack size bags take a large suitcase and 1 back pack. I always try to pack light when going on a plane that way its easier to keep track of my belongings. Also you can try the greyhound website for travel tips, I know they have some and they are very good. And after being on the road for about 40 hours in the past week I would suggest you bring not only music but something to keep your eyes busy so you dont fall asleep. Maybe DVDs or you can try drawing or writing what ever your into just do something that your whole body can get involved with so you dont knock out on the trip.
Most importantly have a fun and safe trip and let us know how it went. |
