Exclamation My rant of the year.

I am extremely upset right now.

I am a senior in high school.

At the end of the year, Seniors are supposed to go to Grad Night. I'm guessing some of you did.

But no.. The majority of students said that Disneyland is too crowded that night, and Magic Mountain isn't, so they want to go there. I guess its also cheaper. We are going to take a vote on it soon. One school in my district already voted and is going to Magic Mountain.

What is happening to the traditions!?

Yes, I know Disneyland is crowded that night. But just being there on Grad Night is the point.

Any thoughts on this? Is this happening to some of you?

similar thing happened to me back on 2000. I circulated a petition and had a rather large campaign to secure a DL trip.

Personally... too many people would just ruin DL for me. But I live farther away and each trip has to be worth it.

Be Glad you get to go anywhere at all I say. I graduated five months ago, and our senior class had 750 students, and we didn't get any trips or things like that. I mean Disneyland is great and all, but Grad Night seems to be very very crowded, and one thing that ruins the magic easily is grad night. I mean the only difference between going during an average day or grad night, is basically it's all students, it's more crowded, and there's lots of hip hop playing everywhere.

And besides if a majority of the seniors want to go to Magic Mountain, then they'll probably be in a bad mood if you went to Disneyland and that's no fun.

My high school cancelled my Grad Night. Be happy you're going somewhere.

I'm with RyGuy and PMM. I see your point and why you'd be upset but be at least grateful that you get to go somewhere at all or in the least somewhere fun. I spent my Rad Grad at a gym that was set up with faux poker tables, a man who did caricatures, and a room with a Playstation. Not my ideal way to spend 4 hours, but my BFF bought my ticket so I went and made the best of it.

They never opened the pool to us, but we had access to the basketball and tennis courts. I'm pretty sure at one point I feel asleep in my then boyfriend's arms in the playstation room LOL.

At least you have a Grad Night, mate. The school I went to canceled Prom and never planned to make Grad Night on my Senior year.

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,

we had ours at a comedy club. Hypnotist and food.. that was about it. It's the friends that make it though. You'll still have a blast! (if you choose to :))

In Utah the idea of a grad night is sitting in your high school at night playing card games and having the basketball court open to you. Hence the reason I didn't go to go Grad Night. Ha.

Wow.. I guess we really are lucky to have Disneyland as our potential Grad Nite spot..

But it does kinda bum us out if the class before us goes and we can't

Austen, I can understand how disappointed you must be at not being able to go to Disneyland for Grad Night. Both my husband and step daughter grew up in Southern California and they both said that from the time they were Freshmen in high school, everyone talked about when they were Seniors they would get to go to Grad Night at Disneyland. I mean they looked forward to it for FOUR YEARS!! For them to take that away from you at this point is just sad. I'm sorry that this happened to you. I hope you still have a great time in your Senior year and on Grad Night.

Well, as much as I love Disneyland, I would be happy to get to go somewhere IF I liked Magic Mountain.. I'm not a "upside-down, loop" coaster finatic. I am greatfull that we at least are going somewhere, I just wish it was a place I liked.
