I intend to move sometime before or during summer this year. Mostly because where I live it gets to be 110 degrees and living in a valley where not only we have our smog but northern Cali's smog too. So I'm moving for a health reason, (so my Dr. says.)
So question, should I get an apartment first then find a job or vice versa, I have never had a paying job and I have no degrees, and I don't drive. (Why this is impotant I don't know.)

Personally, I would say look for a job first because you will most likely need income to pay for the apartment. And if you don't drive, it'll be important to be in close proximity of where ever you work (and be familiar with the bus routes). I've never had a paying job before either and I still don't drive (hey, I'm a year younger than you and I'm teased about it all the time!

I better throw in a dose of reality here. If you've never had a paying job before and you have no degrees, finding a job that will pay enough to pay rent, bus fare, power bill, food etc. might be harder than you think. If I were you, I would apply everywhere in the city you plan to move to (and tell prospective employers you already have a place to live in the area, if they ask.) While you're doing that, start pricing apartments so you can figure out exactly how much money you'll need to make to make ends meet. Good luck!!

You might want to look into renting a room, instead of an apartment. My friend moved to Santa Barbara, and is renting a room for $375 a month and is working at California Pizza Kitchen while he goes to college. Just a suggestion. Good luck!
