Default JasperGein17121's Photo Update (1/04/06)

I want to show you guys my photos that I took this past Wednesday. I was going Monday, but because of the ugly winds, I didn't go. When I arrived on Wednesday, I noticed a long line in the security post. I wondered why was it so crowded. I went on only 2 rides in DCA. I went on Soarin' & Mullholland Madness & waited little time on both thanks to Single Rider. I was taping MM because I was going to make a POV video of it so I can put it here. But since the camera had no LCD(it was an old Sony 8mm video camera that my mom had for almost 6 years), I badly taped it. When I reviewed it at home, I saw that it was pointed towards the sky. Oh man! Monster's Inc was open for a soft preview. But I couldn't ride it because it was a 90 min wait. Heck, I didn't get to ride ToT, since it had a 45 min wait time and it's my fav ride in DCA. They're were testing the cars in Screamin'. I don't know if it's still closed. At DL, oh man, it was crowded for a Wednesday. The wait time were (groans) nasty. It was turning into a repeat of the horrible 6/13 visit where I only rode 2 rides. I wasn't letting that happen. Thanks to hanging around here a lot, I got on 6 rides. I went on Splash using the ever useful Single Rider line. I went on BLAB & HMH w/ Fastpass. The only times I waited on stand-by was POTC w/ a 15 min wait time & Indy with an ugly 55 min wait time (I had to go on it or I won't be happy). I also went on the Mark Twain for the 1st time in 18 years(man, has it been that long?). I rode it at night which was really cool. Uh oh, this is turning into a trip report than an photo update. Here's the link:

http://photos.yahoo.com/ph/waltersullivan11121

Taking a page from DaddyB's book, the photos were taken w/ a Kodak Easyshare CX7300

which is a subsitute since my other camera was still in repair at the time. I'm picking it up tommorrow or today more better.

Other notes:

Both Xmas trees are gone, so I didn't get to take pictures like I wanted.

There's still Christmas decorations all over the place, mostly in NOS.

They're testing the Screamin' cars.

There's a building I never seen before in POTC, just before the burning town. Are the rumors coming true?

BTW does anybody know why was it so crowded Wednesday? It was ridiculous. Last year on the exact week, it wasn't so crowded.

It is? How does PMM do it? He uses Yahoo too. You too, barfownz, use Yahoo too. How do I make the link work? If it doesn't work try this link:
http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/walter.../ph//my_photos
It's the link to the album. This one should work. But I will appericate it if someone could help me how to make the 1st link work.

Nice pics!

Wow, 90 minutes for Monsters Inc?? I went on it 3 times last weekend (Including NYE) with no wait every time. I guess more people are realizing that it's open for previews.

When you click on "share album", there's a URL down at the bottom. That's the link you give people so they can see your albums & the photos within.

Yes, your new link works. Thanks for the pictures! You are an amazing photographer!

I am SO insanely jealous that you got to see Stitch! EVERY single time I go to DCA, I NEVER see him! I always bug the CM at the Information Center about it, but they never know if Stitch will show up or not. I've been very tempted to go to the Lilo & Stitch breakfast even though it's a buffet and I don't eat a lot (if at all). Why is it that I'm such a huge Stitch fan and I'm like the only one who has never seen him?!

I didn't bother going on it January 6th because the line was about 60 minutes long. I loved the ride, but I didn't like it *that* much. Has anything really changed since the soft openings anyway?

Yeah the only real difference I notice between soft open & officially open is that when it's officially open, they have to apologize when it closes.
