Had a TOTAL blast with dad. As you will see from many of the photos, the lines were non-existent. For the first 2 days, we walked directly on to every ride in the park with no wait whatsoever. As an added bonus, NONE of the rides was closed for refurbs, and that was SWEET.
My signature includes a link to my photos that I posted on Yahoo Photos, it should take you right in. Be sure to page down to "Day 3" photos in the gallery to have a full look at the 3 pictures of me on the Splash Mountain sidelines after the ride broke down, got some cool pics of me in the ride standing next to the AA characters... I am currently working on formatting the video of me on the broken-down ride as well. I will give it to the admins ASAP, and let them decide what to do with it... Vid files do take up some space. I think you're going to like it!!! These photos are TOTALLY raw, I have not had time to clean them up or sharpen them up whatsoever. I just thought that I would go ahead and share some of what I have with you all, so please excuse the digital-looking quality of some of these. More when I return, tons of cool stories. |

Hans, you guys look like you had an absolute blast--like you were 2 big kids having the time of your life at Disneyland =) I loved all the pictures--especially the one of you and Goofy. It looked like your Dad got soaked on Splash Mountain! Thanks so much for posting these pic's so we all could see them.

At first I didn't believe you, but WOW! You really did get stuck on Splash Mountain!
Did the water pumps break? Was there a current and the bosts still moving? Did you see any hidden broken audio animatronics?

Heya, thanks for all the compliments on the shots... I just took as many as I could possibly take, and culled out the fairly decent ones. There were a lot of bad shots, as the camera I was using is fairly limited in dark situations..
As to what happened on the Splash Mountain ride: The boats all jammed up on the turn just before heading into the closing sequence with the paddle boad and the gators and all that fun stuff. We sat there for about 15 minutes, and everyone was drumming on the logs and singing, it was so fun! There were about 6 logs jammed up on each other. Then the CMs came and got us out of the logs and walked us along the side, and instead of taking us out through the nearest exit, they walked us the rest of the way through the ride!!!! All of the sound was off, and the figures were all still moving and going through their motions, so it was too cool. I got my pics with the gators, and then as I went to pass Brer Rabbit, a CM said "Here, give me your camera" and took my pic with Him! She said that is was the least she could do for me after all that wait (which actually was really fun). Then, we walked backstage and through the catacombs and the alley in between the ride and some other building, and out through the emergency exit right next to the regular exit. I have video of the entire event, from getting stuck to getting out of the logs to walking through the ride! Everything! It was sooooo cool. I am so sad to be back home, but I think that I am going again soon in the off-season, this time with my girlfriend. It was fun with dad, of course, but there was just something missing without her there. She's really cool. Any more questions, and I will be glad to answer. As to the main question, "When will you post the video?", I have to answer this way: I am not sure how to edit it, or what I should allow to be shown, or where I would show it. I want to make sure that everything would be okay with Disney and the moderators of this site, so it is being worked on even as we speak. The backstage part is okay, but the coolest part is without a doubt the video of me walking through the ride with all of the AA characters right next to me. I will let you know what's up very soon, but as I said, there are certain issues that would have to be considered before posting anything in video format. Keep the comments coming, there are sooooo many things that I could tell you about the trip.... Like when a CM shut the front doors of Haunted Mansion and let me take a solo trip so that I could take video... It was soooooo creepy, I was locked in the lobby, all alone for like 5 minutes with the freezing air conditioning running, and that music, WHOAH! Gave me the willies. The video is fairly good, too, not as good as RU's, but I did it all in nightshot (I had to cover up the IR lamp because the CM's hollered at me to turn off my lamp on the 1st day I was there). Have a good one, talk to you soon. Hans |

Great pics!
I guess this advise is a little too late but...when getting on the doom buggy tell one of the loaders that you are using IR lighting. They can tell the booth and they will leave you alone. But most of the time when I use IR in HM, I am not bothered. I think I have been called to only once or twice is about 16 recordings (between HM and HMH taping.) RU
