A 5.8 earthquake hit my area of California today, I was in Costco and all the things were falling off shelves, it was scary

Just read about this on ABCNews.com. When I lived in L.A. I only experienced one earthquake and it was a 5.0. Shook my apartment pretty good and only knocked one thing off my shelf...but it was a tad scary! Just hope everyone is alright.

I don't know if Disneyland did but I did. I don't think the earthquake was quite big enough to cause too much concern. But I could be wrong I live about 50 miles away.

My parents called me from DL and said that all the rides are shut down. I don't think it will very long though, because a) they didn't really feel the quake and were only thirty miles away from where it happened and b) cast members said that this kind of thing happens all the time so the park should be up and running after it gets inspected.
Even though stuff like this happens in LA all the time, it is still a little bit scary, especially when you are in the one place that doesn't seem to go with the outside world.

I slept through an earthquake when I was little. That would be kinda scary to be on a ride and have that happen.
You know what's worse? Bombs. In NorCal probably... 10 years ago now, they found unexploded bombs in the train yards in Roseville. I lived less than a mile away and when they detonated them, holy cow! The whole house shook and it sounded like we had been blown up! AGH! Those of you who live in areas where there are earthquakes, I'm sorry. They scare me to death!

These are never fun things, but it's part of where we live, unfortunately.

As far as I know, its standard operating procedure for ANY earthquake of any magnitude that's felt in the park, much like a school, earthquake procedures are immediately put into place. These procedures include E-stop and evacuation of any guests in enclosed areas including but not limited to theatres, attractions and hotels. Once everything can be inspected, an 'all clear' of sorts is given, and guests are allowed back in. Think of procedures at a school. Disneyland follows a very similar pattern.

I felt the earthquake this morning.
Living down in San Diego, though, might not have been as strong down here - but I felt it rock my bed a bit, and the trail of aftershocks later on. For those of you who were at Disneyland, it sounds like they're handling the evacuations pretty well, but do any of you know when they'll start opening things back up, or if they already have? |

The earthquake was really, from my perspective, no big deal. They're still having news coverage about it on TV, and I feel like, "okay, yes, it was an earthquake, but nothing really happened. Can we move on now?"
I live about sixty miles from Disneyland, and I texted some folks and things seem to be okay at the park.
