Thumbs down Do it yourself Make-A-Wish!

Dreaming of Disneyland WOW! What these high school students here in Oregon did for their paralysed classmate is really touching. We really can take it upon ourselves to make a difference. This kind of thing really gives me hope for the future.

That totally rocks!!! It's great to see something that focuses on the good in people, because it is out there. Unfortunately, the media tends to focus on the negative so often. Let's hope this encourages others to make a difference.

Thumbs down If I can do it, anyone can

Here's an editorial from that same Lincoln City newspaper those same high school students: If I can do it, anyone can' Such ingenuity! I'm so glad our young people are such go-getters! It seems like such a little thing, but it makes me feel good about the future of the world.

Thank God for small town newspapers, they have so much more good news than the city papers do; and thanks to the internet, we can all read about it too!

Wonderful! Aren't kids great! As I usually try to avoid mentioning here, I teach eighth grade history. School started very shortly after Katrina hit the Gulf Coast. Our students wanted to join the "Got Your Back" program and put together three dozen filled student backpacks which were distributed to kids displaced by the hurricanes.

You're so right, Ezra. Knowing MOST of my students and assuming kids are pretty much the same everywhere, I have no fear for the future. (The present has me somewhat concerned, however; maybe we should let them have the reins now!)

I am sending money to the high school for his trip. I have been blessed with 2 healthy children and 2 healthy grand daughters. The joy of seeing them at Disneyland is something I will carry with me always. I am sending money for each of the children we have been blessed with. Thanks for sharing this story with us Ezra.

Here at my high school, we dont do make-a-wish, or anything like that any more...but we used to do it in elementry school. In fact, while i was still in elementry school, my school collected the most money in the state from any school (elementry, middle, and high). I dont like it that they take the chances for use to give to things like that as we get older though.
