Default Do Bullies from School make fun of you about liking Disney?

Hey,

I had a question for all of you. Do bullies from school make fun of you about liking Disney that much? It happened to me at 7th through 12th grade. The bullies told me that Mickey Mouse is dead. I don't believe them. I call them liars. But, they keep doing it. I did tell the security gaurd and teachers, but they won't stop. They keep spreading all over school. Only the guys, not girls. It is tragic. The high school guys are savages and Disney philistines. I guess I was a Disney nerd at school. Does this happened to you too?

^You're best bet is just to ignore them. They try to provoke you, and if you pretend not to hear it, then they might stop.

Meh, idiots will chastise you for anything. If you didn't like Disneyland, they'd find something else. People will be jerks regardless.

Unfortunately, I'm bully-free now. I got a job and everything is peace and quiet.

I agree. Middle and High School children are just like crabs in a barrel: They think they're trying to claw their way over eachother to reach the top; when actually they're all just pulling eachother down. You don't even have to put a lid on it, cause they're not going anywhere.

Some people will pick on anything that's different. Anything different might become popular... and if it becomes popular, well then you'll be the popular one, not them. So they make a big show about how uncool you are so to take the attention away from themselves... because, when you look at it, they got nuthin'. Nuh-uh-thin'!

Exact same situation for me

I'm actually writing a comparison paper in my english class right now comparing DL and DCA. The attractions, atmosphere, and themes.

It also depends on the crowd you're in. I personally hate rap & hip-hop music, so I'm not going to be that popular in that sort of crowd. I have a major thing for coasters & theme parks, and I'll get along very well with those who share that interest.

Now at junior high & high schools, the kids are pressured & forced into liking something they probably wouldn't take an interest in on their own. If they resist, then they're cast out by the majority who go along with it. To that crowd I say value your interests & don't get pressured into going along with the crowd. You'll gain far more by guarding yourself & holding true to your heart than you think you'll lose.

I usually don't make a big deal about my Disney obsession at school, so nobody really knows. Of course, jerks will be jerks, so they eventually find *something* to tease me about!

Although, there was one time when I wore my Disneyland sweatshirt to school because it was FREEZING cold and these two blonde bimbos pointed and laughed. I wanted to cause them bodily harm, but then I didn't want to sink to their level, so I just shrugged it off.

^ Why would you even care what the blond bimbos thought?

^^Because I'm the sensitive type that can't take insults. What can I say? I'm an only child. I never grew up with the fighting and name calling that is usually associated with having a sibling!
