Disney's Proposed 3rd Gate

Okay I was looking at a new site map of The Garden Walk and well. On the map it gives an overhead view of DLR and just south of the CM parking lot is a lot about the size of DCA (countin the CM parkinglot) that says Disney's Proposed 3rd Gate. Could that mean disney wants to build a 3rd park in the parking lot of the convention center? Because ive been in that lot and only about 30% of the whole lot is used for parking the rest is blank. This site is really recent so this must be recent. I am looking forward to future developments on this whole 3rd Gate thing.

Currently the Third Gate isn't even being considered and there are no current plans or proposed dates to open it. Disney in the past was anticipating a third theme park project to open around 2009/2010. However, that was before DCA opened and since then, they've shelved the plan mainly due to the lack of success in DCA. 2 things must happen in order for the third gate project to be even considered:

• The success of the 2nd Gate. Disney's California Adventure must have more impressive attendance numbers before they will even consider a third gate.
• The Grand Parkway project will dead end. The City of Anaheim has its own plans for that land Disney currently owns which would call for a grand boulevard that will cut right through the property with upscale urban development. It was presented around Fall 2005.

Main message: Disney did have a goal for that land being the third theme park. However, there are some key things that can prevent it from happening.

So all in all does disney want to build a third park. DCAs numbers have been stedialy rising amazingly and DCA is now widly accepted as a "disney park" I conciter DCA like a lawmower, sometimes when you pull the pullstart it wont go it will just go, vroom vroom, and then die, eventually it will start. eh. But that site is from the City of Anaheim? And it is fairly recent, wouldnt they of put somthing else then?

Instead of even *considering* building a new park, I think Disney should spend their excess revenues on improving the two parks they already have. I can't stress enough how much Toontown could really use some work. There are also several areas around Disneyland that could use touch-ups. I've read rumors about DCA expanding into the Timon parking lot...The bottom line is, I think Disney already has their budget full with other responsibilies.

Then why would they say that for the garden walk webpage, why didnt they just say Convention Center Parking Lot.

There WAS a 3rd gate being considered, but all ideas on the table were scrapped in favor of improving DCA & focusing on the upcoming 50th.

No 3rd gate is being considered anymore.

errr....i dont think it should, seein that it is in someways confirmed that disney isnt doing anything. But I hope they do eventually.

^ Totally Agree. If they want a successful third theme park, then it would make sense to significantly improve the existing resort (California Adventure) to have the higher attendance numbers and revenue that would merit builidng a very successful thrid gate. You don't want to build a third gate when the current or potential attendance and revenue can't support it.

I think it is lame.. this is not WDW... I really was not happy about DCA anyway. I like it small, the way it was originally created!

Well a waterpark couldnt hurt. I dont think a 3rd theme park would be good but I think a water park would be cool.

A third park would be a wast of Space I do like DCA but it's never as busy has Disneyland, But the idea od a water park wouldn't be a bad idea though

It would be funny if a water park was built & it started receiving more guests than DCA per day.
