Nice update...

Don't know if it was mentioned but "Isn't it kind of curious that they put more artistry into the construction walls than they have put into the building's facade?!" Rewatch Monsters Inc... particularly opening credits :)

Also, Animation's exterior isn't changing. It would be a foolish investment to change something that doesn't need fixing. The entrance could definetly be redone but the facade itself is very nice.

I think what DaddyB meant was that the 2-dimensional painted flat surfaces on the facade look almost temporary (the paint looks like it needs another coat!), while the artwork on the construction walls looks a bit more "finished".

I know they are going for the main title 2-D look, but the quality of painting on those surfaces is not very good, compared to what they've done with Buzz Lightyear, for instance. I've seen better work from my high school students in regards to paint!

Thanks Chris. That was pretty much the point I was trying to make, but I had forgotten the opening credits to Monsters, Inc. - Even if they're going for that style, it's still pretty poorly done, and frankly even if they are going after that style, it still looks like Disney is going for the cheapest thing possible. Heck, Winnie the Pooh has more theming on the outside than that!

The door applique's on the construction wall look so lifelike. I've seen several tourist shot's where someone is standing in front of those doors either looking like they're about to twist the handle, or having Mike, Sully and Boo behind them. I can pretty much guarantee that no one's going to try to do that with the facade of the building looking like it does now.

I hope they are not going to start going on a cheaply made trend and hope people don't notice and or care.

Excellent indeed DaddyB, oh in case if you didn't guess I was there on that Tuesday when you were with your wonderful wife and my good disney friend Steve. I am very glad to have met you in person, I really do appreciate your hard work in doing these great photos. I am also very grateful to have met the person behind the camera. I finally got to see the fireworks and it was lets just say "VISIONS FANTASTIC" as a great compliment. And Steve my disney buddy supposedly was crying throughout the entire show. I was in awe and I was so much complete with the famous shows, but I still need to see Fantasmic in all its glory. I really am glad I can be part of this wonderful forum with wonderful people and woderous dreams.

Signed Michael

Here are my thoughts on the construction wall matter:
I think that the reson the construction walls looked so good is that they were right in your face and you could walk up and touch them and all that. I think that the ride facade itself will look just as good when the ride finally opens.
I would also like to say that I loved the update and I have the shot of the bright green fireworks as my desktop.

Hey Marvin... er Mark

doh!

Michael!

Mrs. DaddyB and I had a nice visit with you guys. I wish that we could have hung out longer, but she just wasn't as up for it as she originally had thought she would be. I'm glad we got to go on some rides though! That GAC does come in handy sometimes!
