Alright, i have a question for all those who are cast members. I've always thought of becoming a cast member at disneyland so I was wondering how it is. i know there are cast members bound to be some on this lovely site! I was wondering how you guys like your job. Would you recommend it? Is it worth it? What's the best role at the DL Resort?

Give a personal story of a best experience as a cast member and a worst one.

just ask Oscar, he is the longest surving CM at Disneyland today. my family and I met him in August and he has been a chef at Carnation Cafe for 49 years. I sure bet he likes his job.

I would think it depends on what department you're working in. I've been following this same topic on a different forum and a lot of people do not recommend getting a job at Disneyland if you need money. Also, some people have said that being backstage can ruin the Disney magic.

There are a ton of factors that go into this. I think your mind set/outlook and personality will all effect whether or not you'd be satisfied working there. Also, there are things with the union (although I don't really know any details). Just be sure to research the topic thoroughly and not base the decision on whether or not people like their jobs (but their opinions DO matter and should at least help your decision).

Do it! Do it! Do it!

Although most entry level jobs (most park jobs) don't pay a lot of money, the fact that you are working at the Happiest Place on Earth and NO ONE can ever take that fact away from you is awesome!

If you want to make a career out of working for Disneyland the opportunity is there. Disneyland ONLY promotes from within. The management jobs, supervisor jobs and on up the ladder only come from within the employees working there! So there IS opportunity to make good money, but it takes time and patience.

I whole-heartedly recommend you try if you really want to work there.

I'm a seasonal cast member in the Character Department (I'm an elementary teacher full-time) and work on peak seasons and I absolutely wouldn't trade it for the WORLD!

Yah i agree, I wouldn't want to work backstage. I was thinking about maybe for one summer I'd like to work there. I think it'd have it's ups and it's downs.

Every job has it's ups and downs, but to work at Disneyland is a great opportunity and if you pass on it, you'd regret it forever.

Seeing backstage doesn't really ruin anything for you. Trust me, I spent a lot of time backstage and there's really not all that much that "ruins" anything!

I wouldn't mind working on a ride or something. Perhaps like operations or whatnot. How exciting it sounds! What are some of the benefits from working at the happiest place on earth?
